Safety, trust & environment

Dogs are free to roam and make themselves at home, including on furniture. I do have a cat who may take a little time to warm up, so I keep a close eye on introductions and can separate spaces if needed to keep everyone comfortable. For safety and the best experience, I focus on dogs 40lbs+ and over 1 year old. I’m happy to care for seniors or dogs with special needs, though I do have some limits with lifting very large dogs (100lbs+) or administering certain types of medications like injections. I don’t take dogs with aggressive behaviors, as I want to maintain a safe and calm environment for everyone. I don’t bring dogs to dog parks or public pet areas, but I may host up to two dogs at a time, so it’s important that they’re comfortable around other dogs if applicable.

A typical day

A typical day includes at least one walk, regular potty breaks every few hours, and lots of outdoor time in our fenced-in yard. Depending on the season, that might mean fetch, snow play, water play, or just enjoying some fresh air. I try to match each dog’s energy and personality, whether they want to run and play or just curl up and relax. I meet them where they’re at.

Pet care experience

Update 5/6/26: I’ll be reopening my services in June and would love to meet some new furry friends 🐾 I was lucky to spend 10 wonderful years with my 100lb German Shepherd, Hondo, who passed on 5/5/26. He was playful, full of personality, and always ready for an adventure. Because of him, I’m very comfortable caring for larger dogs and understanding their needs through every stage of life. From young, high-energy dogs to seniors who need a slower pace and extra care. Hondo and I spent a lot of time outdoors, such as walks, dog parks, and little trips to the pet store, so staying active and engaged with dogs is something that comes naturally to me. Whether your dog loves to play or prefers a calmer environment, I do my best to match their needs and make them feel safe, comfortable, and at home. I know how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and I’ll care for them with the same attention and kindness I gave my own. I’d love to schedule a meet & greet so we can get to know each other and make sure it’s a great fit for everyone. Note: In rare cases, if a pet requires significantly more time or specialized care, we may discuss a slightly adjusted rate, but this will always be communicated openly after meeting.

Cheryl Lee and Steven go above and beyond in taking care of my dog. They’ve watched her for a few occasions now and my dog (who is such a fraidy dog) is always so excited when we pull by their house. Just shows the love and care that they give her. I highly recommend them to anyone looking to board their dog!
