Pet care experience
I LOVE DOGS!
I have owned dogs since I was 15 years old. As an adult, I've had large breed dogs for over 30 years. I spent the past 2.5 years volunteering at the local shelter walking dogs and providing care for all breeds, sizes and ages. I have also fostered dogs from puppies to seniors. I am Fear Free Certified, and it is my passion to help dogs feel loved and at ease.

Safety, trust & environment
I have a fenced in yard and am active person. I love walking dogs, playing ball or frisbee in the yard and taking my own dogs on hikes or to the park. I also have some training experience and will help your pup to be their best self!
Ratings and reviews
Cheryl Sidwell has been a Core Volunteer at the Humane Society of Wicomico County for years. I’m not sure when I became a Core Volunteer. She has become a strong informal leader at the shelter. We all breathe a sigh of relief when we see her, knowing that she will work really hard to ensure that all the dogs get walked at least twice. She has the ability to love and nurture the tiniest frightened dogs, while doing extensive training and working with some of the most feral strong dogs. She has an uncanny ability to get everyone involved in enrichment activities for the dogs in the shelter. She is generous with both time and resources. She makes dogs that are difficult to place her mission, often finding specific rescue resources that will take the dog. She coordinates the transfer and 90% of the time is involved in the actual transportation process. She also has dogs at home that are loved and will care for. She would be an absolute asset to Rover.
Cheryl has vast experience with dogs of all breeds, ages, sizes, energy levels, etc. As well as working with dogs who have some behavioral issues or reactivity. Your dogs safety and well being is certainly her number one priority. Cheryl has worked with 100s of dogs through volunteering and foster for the local Humane Society. Her experience with dogs is an extremely valuable trait for a dog walker and/or pet-sitter.

Schedule
I work from home, teaching online, so I can easily fit daily pet care into my schedule. I am happy to do overnights on weekends as long as I can also make trips home to let my own 2 pups out. I may eventually be able to do boarding, but am perfecting a setup in my home that keeps new dogs separate from my own, ensuring safety for everyone.
