Oh hi there! I’ve had pets nearly my whole life - fish and mice as a child (they are wonderful pets!) and dogs and cats over my adult life - and I’m passionate about giving our fuzzy friends the most fulfilling lives they can have. I was already the designated go-to person for friends and family when they needed animal care, so I thought: “why not Rover too?” I worked for 2 years as a receptionist and kennel tech at the Winnipeg Animal Emergency Hospital, providing overnight and off-hours care. If it can happen to a pet, it’s probably walked through the doors and I’ve triaged it! I’ve seen our pets at their best and worst, and have confidence in giving meds, restraint, bathing and walking or tending to animals in all their states. Through this experience, I’ve learned to provide loving, kind and respectful care, but I also have great boundaries and am not a pushover! I’ve put my own rescues through training, from obedience to reactivity training, and am confident I can safely and respectfully provide a great experience for you and your best friend(s) (fuzzy or not fuzzy - I like reptiles too).

I’m happy to follow whatever rules and procedures you use for your pets in your home as long as it’s safe. I promise to respect your pets, home and rules as if they were my own, and give your pet as seamless of an experience as I can! I’m happy to do whatever works best for you and feels normal for your pet.

Cheryl was amazing! She was able to come and walk our dog on short notice because of an illness that kept us from giving our dog the length of walk she needs. Cheryl took pictures, loved up our dog, and was prompt and courteous. Thanks for a great first experience with Rover Cheryl!!

Schedule
I’m currently doing some freelance work in my other professional life, so I can set my own schedule on most days, and am reasonably flexible to fit in appointments mornings and evenings as needed. ***I should mention that I do some work on an on-call basis, so I am only accepting short-term or more flexible assignments (time doesn’t matter as much, or it’s okay if I can’t show up for a day)! I unfortunately don’t have space for recurring, weekly assignments. ***

- I’d love to know how you want your pet cared for. Please let me know! Do they respond best to a certain type of treat? Love belly rubs? Every pet has their quirks, and I’d like to tailor my approach to their needs.
