I’m a solar-powered doctoral graduate student, so, while my schedule is busy, I love spending time outdoors walking dogs, or sitting cats who like to remind me to take a study break now and then! My availability is pretty open, and I’m always happy to spend time with fur babies!

Safety, trust & environment
My dogs, Phantom and Juliette, are completely spoiled! They’re family members and treated as such. Plenty of loving, belly rubs, and I’m a proud professional ear scritcher! They sleep inside (usually on top of me in some way). I walk them both daily, but it’s usually more like they walk me, ha! While I’m opening to working with any dog breed, my Phantom and Juliette are pit bulls, and I am very comfortable working with this severely misunderstood breed. Also, my youngest has separation anxiety and my older dog is completely terrified of loud noises (fireworks, cars backfiring, etc.), so I’m very patient with dogs that need a little bit of extra love and attention!
Information Cheryl H. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know if your pet has any special needs or personality quirks. I promise nothing is too strange! For example, my Juliette loves stealing socks, and Phantom sleeps in positions usually only seen in yoga classes.
A typical day
I love walking or running with dogs, and don’t mind traveling longer distances (3 miles or more). I’m also a pretty solid fetch pitcher, and my stubbornness comes through when playing tug-of-war with toys. I have done dog training with my dogs, so am comfortable with commands (sit, stay, down, off, wait, speak, etc.) and training reinforcement.

Pet care experience
I’ve basically lived in a zoo since I was a child, ha! My family always had a variety of animals, including dogs and cats. I’m new to Rover, but have so much love for animals!

Reviews

I was thoroughly pleased with Cheryl! She was honest, responsive, and very kind. This was my first time using Rover so I had asked her to meet with me before I even booked. She used her time to come and meet with me and my dog which put my mind at ease. Cheryl kept in contact with me sending sweet pictures and any concerns she had for my dog. She went above and beyond and cleaned my home before she left. This was the first time I’ve ever gone on vacation and was completely comfortable that my dog was being loved and well taken care of. I will definitely use Cheryl in the future.

Cheryl was great! Responsive and warm! Took great care of my cats! Sent pictures and made sure to double check with everything! Will use her again!
Cheryl is great. She can give your furbaby fun playful energy or calm if that is more your pets vibe. You can tell she really loves animals, furry or even scaled!
Cheryl is a great dog mom, and has adopted her own pet from her brother’s work where he is a vet tech. So it’s always a bonus when she watches my dog, because is in her genes and her brother is just a phone call away. She loves to send funny captions with her photos and I can tell that my dog is well-taken car of while I’m gone!
