Availability

Your dog(s) will be diligently cared for as if they were part of the family. They will receive customized care based on their temperament and energy level. For calm, quiet older pets I can provide them with a tranquil setting, plenty of warm blankets, and a lovely outdoor area to explore during potty breaks. Younger pets with plenty of energy will enjoy loads of playtime, outdoor adventure, and opportunities to explore. I'm looking forward to those walks around the neighborhood as well.

If this is your first time booking with me I would be glad to schedule a meet and greet at our home or a video call prior to the date of your booking. This takes about 20 minutes. When your pet visits for the meet and greet they can explore our home, and your presence interacting with me will help them to identify me as a safe person. We can also exchange questions and any info pertinent to the stay.

Information Cheryl F. would like to know about your pet

Please advise if your pet has any special needs. I want to ensure they have the best care possible. I have some questions that will help me to facilitate a great overall experience: 1. Does your dog respond to any particular commands or words? 2. Do they give you any particular signals when they need to go potty? 3. Do they suffer from separation anxiety? 4. Where do they typically sleep when at home? 5. Is your pet food aggressive? 6. Is your pet housebroken? 7. Are there any medical concerns I should be aware of? 8. Is there anything that triggers your pet in a negative way? 9. Have they ever slipped their leash while on walks?

A typical day

On drop-off day I have a fun routine that helps minimize any anxiety for your pet. Immediately after you leave we go for a nice, leisurely walk. Then upon returning I give them a treat, feed and water them, and we play with toys. This helps to flip a switch in their mind so they identify me as their caregiver. It also helps to curb any stress or separation anxiety they may have. A typical day at our home would include a good mix of indoor as well as outdoor activities. It's likely we'll be out there exploring and taking walks in the neighborhood. We also have an extra-large deck and a secondary downstairs concrete patio, so those two outdoor spaces make for good opportunities to catch a breeze and take a midday rest. We've got plenty of wildlife in our backyard (birds, squirrels, chipmunks, deer) so there's always something interesting to be seen. Additionally, our roomy house has plenty of spots for napping and relaxation. Our kids are all grown up, so it's pretty tranquil around here. My husband, daughter and I stay here (all adults), so it's a great place for shy pets to get acclimated.

YOUR DOG(S) GET TO BE THE ONLY PET

Pet care experience

50 years of experience as a pet mama! I no longer have any indoor pets, just a neighborhood stray cat, and she prefers to live outdoors. While I'm great with all animals, I do specialize in dogs that are NOT pet-friendly and need to be the only dog in the home. The only time I book multiple dogs is when they are from the same family/owner. That means your fur baby gets 100% of my time and attention all to themselves. They will enjoy a safe, secure, pet-friendly environment with loads of 1-on-1 attention, pampering, and spoiling (sort of like a trip to grandma's house). They will definitely want to come back for repeat visits. *Due to restrictions on our home-owners policy, I am currently unable to take in pitbulls and German shepherds. My apologies for any inconvenience. *Also, as a courtesy, and since we do allow your pet on our furniture, we do ask that your pet has been recently bathed when dropped off for boarding.

Cheryl is our go to whenever we need a sitter for Kona. She is flexible with scheduling and treats Kona with the best of care. She provides regular walks and pictures/videos to put us at ease. Kona loves to watch for chipmunks, birds and deer from Cheryl’s windows. I have booked both daycare and overnight care for long trips and we always know we can count on Cheryl.

My high-strung little dog was very comfortable with Cheryl, and was relaxed and happy in the (many) pictures and videos sent. I really appreciated that Cheryl sent frequent updates, and the affection and excellent care she gave Gracie. Highly recommend! Thank you!
