I have extensive experience in animal rehabilitation, including administering medication, performing life-saving procedures, supporting post-surgery recovery, and managing both physical and behavioral issues. Over the years, I’ve cared for countless animals with conditions such as arthritis, allergies, anxiety, collapsing tracheas, and other age-related or chronic illnesses. My background has equipped me with strong knowledge in pet illness prevention, senior care, physical therapy, and behavioral management.

Safety, trust & environment
My home is very quiet and stress free. There are no children present or any people traffic. I take requests and make accommodations for pet owners, if a dog or cat is better suited as the only animal present during their stay, just let me know! I spend the duration of a booking and focus 100% of my effort entertaining and attending to pets. Your pet will never be unattended for the duration of a booking. We are kennel free, unless it’s part of your pets regular routine. I currently care for multiple rotating rescue animals and understand that every pet has their own story, needs, and comfort level. I approach each one with compassion, respect, and a calm, confident energy that helps them feel secure and loved. I’m also experienced with administering oral and topical medications, wound care, specialized diets, and gentle rehabilitation exercises to help pets heal and thrive.

Information Cheri V. would like to know about your pet
Health and safety is always the top priority so please let me know if your pet has any special needs, medical conditions, allergies, or behaviors I should be aware of so I can tailor their care perfectly. I’d also love to know about their daily routine — feeding times, favorite toys, comfort items, social preferences, and any fears or sensitivities (like loud noises or other animals). The more I know about your pet’s personality, habits, and history, the better I can make their time with me feel safe, familiar, and full of love. My goal is always to keep their routine consistent and the experience a happy one that they can look forward to in the future.
A typical day
It’s a very comfortable, peaceful and quiet environment. A perfect fit for seniors and anxious or reactive pets. Young adults who need a lot of attention also do well with me because I spend all of the time focused on their happiness. I feel it should also be a vacation for them, and something to look forward to. There are no visitors and upon request, no other animals during a booking. I tailor activities to each animal’s personality and energy level — whether that means long walks, playful training games, enrichment puzzles, or just plenty of cuddles and one-on-one attention. For dogs, I love taking them on engaging walks and giving them positive outlets for their energy. We might play fetch, explore new smells on a neighborhood stroll, or enjoy a relaxing belly rub session after a good walk. Like people each dog has their own idea of a fun day. I really like to engage and coordinate with owners on what their ideal activities would look like for their pet. For cats, I create fun indoor play sessions using teaser toys, laser pointers, or simple enrichment games to keep their minds and instincts sharp. Shy cats get quiet companionship, grooming, or gentle petting to build trust and comfort. Every visit is about connection — making sure each pet feels loved, stimulated, and secure until their favorite human comes home.

So grateful for Cheri’s care for understanding Tibby’s needs. With our dogs anxiety, she allowed the time for him to grow comfortable with her while providing him a safe, comfortable and fun environment. She played with him and took him for walks and shared photos throughout the day. Thank you for taking such great car of our boy.
Omg Cheri is THE BEST with animals!! Her heart is more for animals than it is for humans! Which is good if u want someone who cares and loves for ur pets. She rescues animals and spends her time researching ways to improve their health. She’s watched my dog for a week before and I had no worries the whole time. She takes their care seriously. When my other dog was dying, she knew exactly what to do and what supplements to get to help her. She’s a vet without the degree. I HIGHLY recommend her services ☺️
Cheri is a very special lady. Her love for animals is very apparent. She has rescued many different types of animals from dogs, to ducks, to possums etc over many years. Working with animals brings her great joy and her love for them definitely shines through. She would be a great pick as a Rover sitter/provider. I recommend Cheri as a pet sitter indeed.
