I’ve helped look after dogs belonging to friends and family since I was at primary school. For more than two years, I’ve also been caring for my own dog, Zeke, a six-year-old Labrador with a big personality. I take care of every part of Zeke’s daily routine, including feeding him, preparing his homemade meals, taking him for walks, trimming his nails, bathing him, brushing his teeth and cleaning his face. Being responsible for my own dog has taught me how important it is to be consistent, patient and attentive every single day. Zeke is loving, funny and a bit of a troublemaker, but he can also be a very anxious boy. Caring for him has taught me to notice small changes in a dog’s mood and behaviour. I never rush him or force an interaction when he feels nervous. Instead, I stay calm, give him time and let him approach things at his own pace. I’m always taking photos of Zeke’s different moods and little adventures, and I even created a Douyin account to share his everyday life. I know how reassuring it is for an owner to see that their dog is happy and settled, so I’ll send you regular photos and prompt updates while your dog is in my care. When looking after your dog, I’ll follow their usual feeding, walking and care routine closely. I’ll take the time to understand their personality and make sure they receive the right balance of exercise, attention, reassurance and space. I’ll also treat your home with care and respect. I won’t bring anyone else with me or touch your belongings unnecessarily, and I’ll always double-check that the doors are secure and the keys are safe before leaving. I’m based in Glasgow, have a flexible schedule and am happy to travel across the city. Most importantly, I won’t simply complete a list of tasks—I’ll care for your dog as an individual and do my best to help them feel safe, comfortable and loved.
