Safety, trust & environment
For mental stimulation I hide high reward treats or use snuffle mats to engage and when the inevitable tantrum occurs; I distract and do training segments to negate the poor behavior. I also actively try to practice and use the verbage my clients use to ingrain and train for everyday life activities. I believe preventative care is the best care you can give to your animal. I treat all animals with love and kindness and attempt to help keep them fulfilled by learning what their needs are and by continuing to keep them engaged both mentally and physically. Home environments are custom tailored to whatever your dog and yourself will need to be comfortable, safe and engaged while you’re away.
Information Chelsea W. would like to know about your pet
I always ask for a written/ typed note that includes: Emergency contact number from owner and trusted friend Emergency vet information Vet information Feeding schedule with food amounts/ types of food A typical schedule of the day as I try to keep to your daily routine as closely as possible to mitigate anxiety For walks I ask if you’d like a specific distance/ time whichever your preference is/ how many times a day Medication management- this includes ALLERGENS! WiFi information Basic command verbiage Favourite toy Soupy poopy protocol- fasting/ boiled chicken and white rice/ probiotics/ continue regular feedings For Cats: If the litter box is automated please leave trouble shooting information Where is extra cat litter/ deodorizer located? Dust pan & broom or vacuum location Cups/ faucets/ water fountains/ bowls- preference for cat(s) drinking water Quirks- anything specific I need to know about your feline companion(s) Then my only stipulations for booking a stay is the area id be staying in to be clean/ sanitary when I come to stay. I didn’t think it was necessary to disclose this but I’ve found some people are in need of being told it. And of course, I believe it is your right to have cameras in the house to check in on your child(ren); I just ask that there are no cameras where I am sleeping ☺️ I prefer to meet at least once with all parties before taking the job but same day care is possible if all necessary information has been communicated thoroughly and your animal feels safe within my presence!
A typical day
Bark Park- off leash dog park engagement if you are comfortable Lick mats- organic yogurt, organic wild blueberries/sugar & salt free peanut butter Find it- high reward treats typically freeze dried chicken, beef liver, or salmon (that way any dog with sensitivities/ allergies can still engage) hidden forcing the dog(s)/ cat(s) to really engage their noses to find their treats! Walks- we work on recall, eye contact, & no pulling. Typically the first 5-10 minutes is direct engagement with me then we’re given is a lazy walk back with lots of sniffing as a reward. Fetch/ tug/ lure training- whichever your animal enjoys! Adventure dog/ cat- early morning hike (temperature dependent & shoes preferred) or Lake Pleasant swim day with life jacket(requirement).

Reviews

I could never find enough positive things to say about Chelsea! She is so communicative and caring and we couldn’t have asked for a better person to watch our cats! Her perfect reviews are here for a reason and I absolutely recommend her to anyone!

Chelsea was AMAZING with my pups. I know when I travel they are in great hands. Chelsea provides updates multiple times per day along with photos. She left my house spotless. Will definitely be using her services again

Chelsea is the best! She took great care of our two dogs while we were gone, she was very thoughtful and attentive. She went above and beyond and we are so appreciative!

I could not have had a better experience with Chelsea. She was so accommodating my anxious pups (& this anxious dog moms) needs. She went out of her way to make sure we were both comfortable prior to and during my trip. She spent a lot of time making sure my dog was both mentally and physically engaged in activities which really helped calm him down as he can be very stressed when meeting new people. Couldn’t recommend her more 🫶
