Pet care experience

Anything is paw-sible!

I grew up around dogs, cats, and farm animals, and I have been caring for them or assisting with their care for as long as I can remember. I have always been an animal lover, and pets have been a huge part of my life. I also have experience pet sitting, house sitting, dog walking, and doing barn work for friends, family, and neighbors. I have recently returned to the area after thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail, and am looking forward to spending more time working with animals. I have experience working with large and small dogs, puppies and seniors, as well as cats, horses, goats, birds, rodents, rabbits, and more. I also have experience administering oral, topical, and intramuscular medications and pet first aid. I believe that mutual respect is key in having a good experience with people and pets alike. You, your home, and your pet will always be respected in my care. I do not use corporal punishment of any kind. I and happy to reinforce or participate in any specific training methods or commands that you use with your pet.

Safety, trust & environment

Safety is first!! Your pet will always be leashed when not inside or fenced in. They will always be under close supervision while in my care. Your dog must have a well fitted collar or, preferably, harness to eliminate any possibility of them slipping out or getting loose during a walk. If I am ever transporting your dog in my car, I have a dog seatbelt that will buckle into the car. They will just need a harness in order to use it.

It is important to know whether your dog is good with other dogs and people in case they will be around my dog or see other dogs during a walk. I would also like to know if your dog has any history of aggression so that I can be prepared, and if they have any special needs or tendency to run away.
