Pet care experience

Dog-friendly home, fenced in yard!

As a dog owner for most of my life, I understand how important it is to trust your pet is in good hands when you're not present. I became a dog sitter to help provide pups with the love and attention they need! I’ve always helped friends out with dog sitting, and it’s been a great experience every time. I’ve owned or dog sat a variety of breeds over my life and am equally comfortable watching over a tiny Yorkie as I am with a 100lb Mastiff. I've worked in the arts industry for many years, but currently work in a regular Mon-Fri office job. I have remote work days combined with in-office. That means that I’m a good fit for dogs that need a little bit more attention or perhaps don’t like to spend too much time alone. Though I’ll be the primary caregiver, my wife likes to help out on occasion, and my 14 year old always enjoys a little playtime! (We do ask that all dogs that come to us be child-friendly.) We currently have one dog of our own: Jasmine, a nine-year-old Blue Heeler mix. Jasmine will lick you to death if allowed! Not only am I a fan of Cesar Milan (aka The Dog Whisperer), I have had the pleasure of meeting and working with him in my previous job capacity doing production management for his touring show. I definitely learned a thing or two from him, and really enjoyed speaking to him at length about how he handles dogs. We’ve incorporated some of his training techniques in our own home and know the value of good training techniques. We are currently based in Hutto. We have very nice neighbors, most of whom are friendly dog owners. It’s relatively quiet and low key for the most part, and, best of all, easily accessible to walking trails or drives to nearby dog parks. Our backyard is medium-sized: large enough for several dogs to run around and play but not so large that you ever lose sight of them. We have a large patio for shade and various rabbits & squirrels for barking at!

House Sitting • Dec 28, 2025

Cheles was great. He stayed with my anxious pups at night, and sent lots of pics of happy playtime during the day. He was really communicative and helpful about things like bringing in packages and working around our cleaning service coming by one day. House was well-kept, and the dogs actually looked kind of disappointed when we got home ;)

Cheles was amazing. Kora loved him from the beginning and his energy is great. Cheles even taught her how to shake which was awesome. Throughout the night he kept us updated on how Kora was doing and sent pictures. I would definitely recommend Cheles and will have him sit for us again.

Boarding • Sep 10, 2024

Cheles and his family have watched our dogs Noah and Nova twice now and are absolutely wonderful! They helped us out in a pinch during the Christmas holiday last year and most recently this past weekend. Communication is great with lots of photos. We also appreciate how flexible they have been with drop off/pick up. We would definitely recommend them to others!

Doggy Day Care • Jul 23, 2024

I would highly recommend Cheles to anyone looking for boarding your dog. My last minute request to board my pup that too during a long weekend was instantly approved by Cheles. My pup returned home so happy and surely would board him in the future. Thank you for all the care!

I've worked in the arts industry for many years, but currently work in a regular Mon-Fri office job. I have remote work days combined with in-office. That means that I’m a good fit for dogs that need a little bit more attention when I'm working from home remotely. I am available both during the week and the weekends, schedule depends on client needs and my rotating work calendar and holidays.

A typical day

I know that getting plenty of exercise is the key to a good stay! My own doggie likes to get out fairly frequently, and we’ve narrowed down some great spots nearby to visit. I like to take the dogs on walks thru the neighborhood close to our home. There’s also a larger dog park not too far away in Hutto near Star Mark dog training facilities, where I love to play fetch. There’s definitely just some quality couch lounging and petting time that we’ve carved out in the day's plans as well!

Some things I like to learn ahead of time: Would you like to schedule a meet-and-greet before the stay? Does your pup have any health issues that need to be tended to? For instance, dietary restrictions, medicine, or behavior triggers? Does your pup like to stick to a given schedule, like regular walks in the morning and evening? What does your pup do well around? What does your pup try to avoid? What’s the best way to spoil your pup?
