Pet care experience

Here to hang out with your pups!

In working within various animal hospitals for several years I've learned so much about not just animals but the bonds that owners and families hold to their pets. I hope to take the attentiveness and medical expertise I have gained in the clinical aspect of pet care, and apply that to a more personal and interactive realm of the practice. In losing my own pet I have learned just how much the lives of these little loved ones matter and I seek to ensure that every animal and pet I encounter is given a loving and nurturing experience while in my care. I firmly believe that pets have the ability to inject the human life with so many positive aspects and I seek to return the favor.

Chauncey has dog and housesat for us twice now, and I cannot recommend him enough. The only reservation I would have to such recommendation would be out of fear that he might not be available when we need a sitter. He clearly spent time with our elderly dog Igor picking up on his mannerisms and idiosyncrasie, which meant the world to us and Igor. He also was extremely respectful with the house and things were probably cleaner when we got home than when we left him.

Chauncey was great with our old man dog, really made the effort to learn about his routines and preferences and give him as close to normal days as possible. Chauncey was punctual, professional, and communicated well. Looking forward to booking him again!

My dog is nervous with new people and a stubborn old lady. By day two she was comfortable and cozied up with her new dog sitter. Chauncey got back to me very quickly after our last sitter canceled the night before our trip. He took wonderful care of my baby!

Safety, trust & environment

I try to treat every pet as though they were my own. Strangers can be scary for animals so I aim to be as warm and welcoming and approachable as possible to ensure animals feel comfortable with me in their spaces while I have the opportunity to hang out with them.

A typical day

I try to remain active throughout the day. I have recently gotten into the habit of daily walks to keep my gears going. When I was a pet owner I was a very big fan of walks at Craig Ranch with my baby Jolene. She would guide me while I read and held the leash. There are also several other smaller but substantial parks and trails around the valley that I’ve discovered while exploring the city.

A basic behavioral run down should be all I need to know about an animal. I can usually get a good sense of it myself however, owners tend to have a greater insight as to their animal's temperament, preferences, and activity level than I would.
