New to Rover but not to pet care
Ever since I was born, there has been a dog in my life. I’ve lived with a dog in my home for over 25 years and have experience caring for them at all life stages- from the puppy to senior years. I live with my wife, son, and our 4 year old golden retriever, Beau. Beau is a true golden retriever, super easy-going and loves all dogs he meets. We have a comfortable, dog friendly home where the dogs are welcome to relax on the couches, beds, wherever they are comfy. We also have a large fenced in yard in a quiet, family friendly neighborhood that suits our twice daily walks. We treat our dog like a member of the family and love to bring him with us wherever we can- breweries, farmers market, vacations, you name it. We will treat your dog as one of our own as well. Last year, I kickstarted a weekend morning dog walk at a local park with friends, that my dog looks forward to weekly. My family and I have also regularly dogsat for friends of ours as favors.

Chas loves dogs and dogs love him! He frequently dogsits for his friends and family’s fur children and is responsible and trustworthy. Always willing to go to the dog park to play some fetch and is not above keeping the sidewalks clean ;)

Schedule
My wife and I both work a hybrid schedule and are home Fridays-Mondays to support boarding your dog over long weekends. We always prioritize our dog’s needs and the needs of any dog we are watching by being home often, providing lots of attention, play, and long morning and evening walks.

Safety, trust & environment
We have a large, securely fenced in yard and have our 4 year old golden retriever, who is extremely friendly, laid-back, and great with other dogs. We have not crated him since the puppy years, but can crate your dog if requested. Our home (and furniture) is dog friendly.
Pets
A typical day
A typical day at our home for our dog starts with 1.5 long morning walk around the neighborhood, followed by breakfast and then patrolling the backyard for critters (bunnies, chipmunks, squirrels, groundhogs). Your dog is welcome to assist Beau in such activities. We play fetch and apart stuffed animals. We also go on walks/hikes through the woods at our local park if that is of interest to your pup. If your dog prefers a life of leisure, they are welcome to relax on the couch, gaze out the window, or watch tv. The day will end with a long evening walk, dinner, and some cuddles or belly rubs.
