Pet care experience

Cat lover😸

Cats have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. From bouncy kittens who think 3am is playtime to elderly cats who need patience, warm laps, and a very specific routine. What sets me apart is that I pay attention to the individual cat, not just the checklist. Every cat has their own language — the tail flick that means "enough now," the particular spot behind the ear that turns them to jelly, the difference between "I'm hiding because I'm shy" and "I'm hiding because something's wrong." I take time on the first visit to learn yours, and I always follow their lead rather than pushing for affection they haven't offered yet.

Safety, trust & environment

My aim is for your cat to barely notice you've gone — same routine, same rhythms, same home, just with me in it. Before you leave. I'd like to do a meet-and-greet in your home so your cat can smell me and decide I'm acceptable, and so I can take notes on the details: where the food lives, portion sizes, feeding times, which litter you use, hiding spots, whether they're allowed on the counter and any quirks I should know. I'll also confirm your vet's details and an emergency contact. Every visit. I follow your schedule rather than my own convenience. Fresh water, food measured as you've specified, and bowls washed properly rather than topped up. Litter trays scooped every visit and fully changed as needed — I know how quickly cats vote with their paws when a tray isn't clean. I'll check that they've eaten, drunk, and used the tray, because those three things tell you most of what you need to know about a cat's wellbeing. Beyond the basics. I give them proper time, not a rushed in-and-out. Play with whatever they actually like — the wand toy, the crinkle ball, the shoelace they've decided is superior to everything you've bought — plus lap time or brushing if they're the affectionate sort, and quiet company at a respectful distance if they're not. I'll refresh sunny spots, open blinds for window watching, and rotate toys so there's something to do between visits. Health and safety. I do a quick once-over each visit: eyes, coat, appetite, energy, litter contents. I administer medication exactly as prescribed and log every dose. I check that windows and doors are secure before I leave, that nothing hazardous has been knocked over, and that they haven't shut themselves into a wardrobe — because one of them always tries. Keeping you in the loop. Daily updates with photos and a genuine account of how they're doing, not just a thumbs up. If anything seems off, you'll hear from me straight away, and I'll never make a vet decision without contacting you first unless it's a genuine emergency and you're unreachable. Your home. I treat it with care. Surfaces wiped, litter area tidy, post brought in, bins out if you'd like, plants watered on request. You'll come home to a settled cat and a house that looks the way you left it.
