Availability
I am currently studying so I can look after your pet during my free time. I am also available most weekends, as long as I am given enough notice to plan around it! During holidays when I am not on placement, I have plenty of time to look after your pet while you are away.

Safety, trust & environment
I respect my pets boundaries and only approach and handle them when they are comfortable. With my veterinary studies, I have learnt about behaviour of animals, allowing me to understand when they are comfortable or uncomfortable with my approach and handling. I apply this to all the furry friends I care for, to ensure I don't push their boundaries and make it the best experience for them. I aim to gain their trust and become someone they enjoy spending time with by playing with them and providing enrichment. I have worked with numerous nervous and reactive dogs, where I have had to build a strong bond of trust and a safe environment. I am able to create distractions with treats and stick to strict training if required! Unfortunately I can not care for your pet in my own home as I live in rented housing.
Information Charlotte H. would like to know about your pet
I need to know about any medications, allergies, special needs and the amount of exercise your pet needs. I would also love to know their favourite toys, treats and games to make their time with me as smooth and as fun as possible. Additionally, I would like to know how your pet reacts to other animals and people, especially children, runners and bikes. If your pet requires special attention while walking, or needs to follow a certain route or be walked at a certain time, this would be extremely useful to know too!
A typical day
I love creating both physical enrichment by playing ball games, and mental enrichment by playing hide and seek games with treats or making frozen licks with hidden treats. Sometimes I simply enjoy putting the TV on a channel that your dog loves! I enjoy walking and exploring new areas around me with the pets I am caring for. This gives them a chance to explore new smells, which is great for their brains and mental state, and possibly meet new friends. I also love enforcing old tricks and teaching new ones!

Vet Student 🩺 | Pet Sitter 🐕🐱
Pet care experience
I am a final year veterinary medicine student (about to graduate!) with over ten years of animal handling experience and experience with pet sitting and walking. I have confident with dogs, cats, rabbits, and rodents through completing my veterinary student placements at rescues, shelters and kennels. This has given me the opportunity to become skilled and competent meeting new animals, handling them with care and gaining their trust. Whilst on placement I have had excellent feedback on how I safely approach and handle animals I am caring for at the vets, making them feel safe and comfortable. This is something very important to me. Additionally, whilst growing up, I cared for and looked after my own rabbits.

Reviews

Charlotte was great, kept me informed throughout house sitting. Details on how finn was and more. Thank you!

Charlotte came over to dog sit our puppy and after meeting her beforehand, I felt reassured she was in safe hands. Charlotte turned up on time and followed all instructions re feeding times / nap times etc. She also kept as updated throughout with photos / messages. Would recommend and 100% use again!

Charlotte is reliable, friendly and great with Eevee. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to others.

I've already left a review!
