Pet care experience

Experienced Dog Carer 🐾 🩷

I’ve owned a dog since I was 6 years old (a little Jack Russel called Amy!). Ever since she passed I’ve been filling my time with walking friends dogs, dogsitting family pets and making sure to pet every dog I’ve ever walked past. Having grown up around so many dogs I’m incredibly respectful to each one’s needs, boundaries and requirements. Each dogs personality is taken into consideration to ensure they feel safe and comfortable when their pawrents are away 🩷

Charlotte has looked after our dog a few times now and always does a great job of keeping us informed and looking after our girl.

It was my dog's first time staying with a sitter but Charlotte took great care of him. I appreciate the updates and the photos provided throughout the day. He seemed to have a good day with her!

Safety, trust & environment

I’m right next to Ancoats marina and have a communal garden to take your dog for regular toilet breaks and a game of fetch (or 7!). Regular head or tummy scratches are provided, and I ensure each dog is catered for in however they prefer in that moment (playing and/or a bit of peace to have a nap when in my flat). No food is in a reachable distance and my area is always kept clean & tidy to ensure the safety of your pet (and my belongings)

A typical day

For me I put a lot of emphasis on dogs sniffing and getting used to their area. Not only does this make them feel more comfortable in a new environment, but it’s also fantastic exercise for their brain and releases a lot of dopamine. Because of this, I ensure to take dogs out for a walk multiple times a day and in multiple places too so they can explore and socialise! Whether that’s at the marina with the geese, in my communal garden outside my flat, or simply meandering the canal - I always make sure your dog is catered to. I also LOVE playing with dogs (probably as much as they do) and I’m a pro at tug of war, fetch and just generally giving them lots of attention and chin scratches should they want them. With this said though, I also know how much dogs appreciate their rest and recuperation, so I have plenty of spaces in my flat for your dog to tuck themselves away and have a nap should they need one. My flat is very quiet & peaceful so I’m able to cater for an array of dogs.

Due to the size of my flat, I won’t be able to take large dogs at this time, however this doesn’t mean I can’t take house visits or walk a larger dog. If you could please provide information regarding your pets breed, age, temperament and preferences (do they like being stroked? Do they prefer shorter walks?) that would be most appreciated. If they’re doing to be in my flat too, I’d prefer to meet the dog beforehand so we can get to know each other - and you can meet me too!
