My general rule of thumb for taking care of pets in other people’s homes is to treat it like my own place and my mom is going to visit.
Information Charles L. would like to know about your pet
At what times your dog is usually walked, any medications or allergies, favorite treats, when/how much they eat, and, lastly, if they like to run.
A typical day
I love going to parks…above all Discovery and Carkeek. Although I’ve spent a cumulative 7 years in Seattle, I’m still exploring the city so I appreciate that dog sitting gives me the prerogative to wander around and see more of the city.

Pet care experience
I’ve been a sitter on Rover since my sophomore year of college and I’ve been taking care of pets since forever. I thoroughly enjoy spending time with any kind of animal and I pride myself on ensuring they get the care and respect they deserve. I’m also 7 years old so I really vibe with the doggos:D

Charles is always amazing 🤩

Charles is amazing and we highly recommend! His calm demeanor is perfect for our (more than enthusiastic) dog.

Charles was responsive to messages and proactive about scheduling ahead of the sit. However, we did have several issues during a longer stay that are important to note. Our dog has specific feeding and medical instructions (raw diet, cone use for ear healing), which were provided in writing and discussed in advance. Unfortunately, the wrong food was administered for several days despite instructions in the Google Doc mentioning moving frozen patties from the freezer to the fridge. He was very responsive and apologetic about thinking canned food meant raw food. The canned food was not set out anywhere obvious, so I am not sure why he didn't clarify this earlier. Also, I needed to ask Charles several times to use the cone for Darby as I saw on our porch camera that Darby did not have his cone on on every walk. This was also outlined in the Google Doc. I am not sure if the document was read, just not in detail, or if he didn't look at it at all. Communication was fairly minimal and often required us to ask specific follow-up questions to understand how our dog was doing. In all fairness, maybe I should have said that I wanted daily specific updates on how his eating, bathroom, sleeping, ear healing was going and more details and pics in general. I didn't realize this until late in our trip, but I also don't know that I should need to specify this. While Charles was generally responsive when contacted, we would have needed more consistent communication and closer adherence to care instructions to feel fully comfortable.

Charlie is fantastic and I would highly recommend!
