All instructions provided will be followed to the letter! I do not answer the door, or let anyone indoors, unless the owner has informed me ahead of time. When on our walks, we will do our best to avoid all potentially reactive situations (if another dog were coming, we stay on the other side of the road – or duck down a side street, if possible). I do allow others to pet the dog, and get treats from UPS, USPS, etcetera, if it is alright with you [the owner]. I have used e-collars, pinch collars, and a couple different types of harnesses. If no one else is around, and not in a neighborhood - primarily around 4H fairgrounds and other empty fields/trails, I have walked dogs off-leash (with owners permission) and only after testing recall in an enclosed area. Pets are never allowed outside unattended. I also provide other services such as taking in the mail, watering houseplants, taking out the trash, and cleaning up all accidents made in the house. If trash day falls on the same time as one of my visits, I will ensure all trash is either in the dumpster or your trash can is brought to the side of the road for pickup (I will also bring it back in if it is picked up during my time of stay). I do provide several photo updates throughout each day of my visit. Looking forward to meeting your wonderful pets! 🐾

Information Charlene T. would like to know about your pet

- Is your pet okay with adults and children? Is it okay for people to pet them or give them treats? - How are they on a walk? Are they reactive? - Have any bad habits (getting into the trash, ripping furniture, etc.)? - Are they up to date on their shots and flea/tick treatment? - Is he/she neutered/spayed? - Do they have any lesions, bumps, or any other markings and illnesses that I should be aware of?

A typical day

I love being active with your dog, whether playing fetch, tug-o-war, or going on lots of walks (primarily around the neighborhood). I ask that your dog be leash-trained if over 45lbs, for both my own and the dogs safety. For cats, I feed, water, and scoop their litter box(es). Extra time is spent cuddling, playing, or simply leaving them be until they are comfortable; it all depends on what your cat likes. During the quiet times, I enjoy video games, watching television, and reading. I normally pre-cook my meals at home before each housesit.

Pet care experience

☆☆Privately Insured and Bonded through Pet Sitters Associates☆☆ I began pet sitting professionally in 2015, as a flexible side job, while earning my bachelor's degrees in Alaska. Since then, I've continued caring for pets throughout Alaska, Massachusetts, and Connecticut, and I love getting to know both pets and their people. My experience with animals goes back even further. Growing up, I had dogs, cats, and rabbits of my own, and I often helped friends by caring for their pets. Spending time with animals—whether that's going for walks, playing fetch, offering cuddles, or simply keeping them company—is one of my favorite past times. I’m comfortable caring for dogs of all breeds, though I do ask for a meet-and-greet before any dog visits. It gives us a chance to get acquainted, helps your pet feel comfortable with me, and lets us make sure everyone is a good fit. Over the years, I've cared for indoor and outdoor cats, puppies, senior pets, rabbits, chickens, ducks, and birds. I have experience administering oral medications, including pills and needleless syringes, as well as insulin to cats, and have even used a nebulizer for a rabbit. I know pets are family, and I would be honored to care for yours. If you have any questions, I'd be happy to chat! **Please note that a travel fee of $2 per mile per night applies to locations beyond my service radius, starting from Norwichtown.**

Charlene was great and gave our girl Beatrice extra help from thunder storms. She’s timid and we’ve never left her over night without one of us home but Beatrice cuddled in bed with her just like we do. I know she felt safe .

Charlene is amazing!!! We are so grateful to have found her. My two boys love her and she is so good with them. The stress of leaving my boys home when I have to travel is so greatly reduced now because I know she’s taking such good care of them. I can’t recommend enough, how wonderful she is!!!
