Hi, I’m Charito! I’m a study-from-home/online student and lifelong pet lover who grew up on a farm with cats, dogs, chickens, ducks, geese, ponies, and cows. I have a passionate background in dog training, rescue, and dog behavior. In my community and rescue circles, I’m often called the “dog whisperer” — because I truly enjoy understanding dogs through calm leadership, structure, and psychology. I work closely with rescue dogs and have extensive experience with puppies, small to large breeds, and dogs with different personalities and energy levels. My passion is helping dogs feel safe, balanced, and understood — and helping their humans feel confident and supported while they’re away. When dogs or cats stay with me, my goal is simple: for them to feel at home. Because I study from home, your pet will never be left alone for long periods. I’m around throughout the day and can easily adapt to your pets routine when planned in advance. I live in an apartment close to dog parks and Prospect Park, so dogs in my care get plenty of fresh air, walks, mental stimulation, and structured downtime. I balance activity with calm rest, depending on each dog’s individual needs. I’m reliable and very attentive. If I’m caring for a dog for a longer stay, I’m always happy to help reinforce basic training, manners, and confidence. Reactive dogs can be discussed on a case-by-case basis. Because there are multiple dogs in my apartment building, safety is extremely important to me, and I want to make sure it’s a good fit for everyone.
