Pet care experience
You’re barking up the RIGHT tree!
I have had dogs my entire life. Fun fact: my first word was doggie. I’ve dealt with all kinds of breeds: Keeshond, pug, chihuahua, jack russell, lab, Australian shepherd, you name it! I SO enjoy dogs, and treat them (perhaps) better than family at times. I firmly believe that dogs are a humans best friend and just want to share my love of them by helping people care for them. I had a pug for many years and towards the end of her life, I bought her a wheelchair and a doggie stroller so she could still enjoy the outdoors with myself and my other (now senior) dog.
Qualifications
Ratings and reviews
Charissa was great! She showed up on time and Sadie ran right up to her with a big smile. Very comforting!

Charissa was amazing! We would definitely use her again. Dogs were well loved and taken care of.
Charissa is exceedingly capable with dogs/pets. She has a heart for animals (especially dogs) and knows instinctively how to care for them. She's reliable, trustworthy, attentive, and kind. You won't have to worry about anything entrusting your dog(s) to Charissa-- they're in good hands! She looks after our dog frequently as we travel (various time frames) and we couldn't be happier. Charissa's your 'go-to' for dog care.
Charissa took care of our dogs at the last minute and she was great with them. We recommend her services.

Charissa was great with Jasper! I was extra impressed by her consideration for my pup in the heat. I booked Charissa for two visits/walks during the day but she returned a third time later in the evening so Jasper could get out for a walk when it was cooler. I would definitely trust her to care for Jasper again!

Charissa has cared for our dog several times. She loves animals, spends time playing and walking our dog when in her care. We were away on a long trip overseas and received regular updates and photos while away. She even looked after our dog when she was still being trained and that takes dedication to consistently take the dog out. We will continue to book Charissa to dog-sit!
Calendar and availability
Schedule
I moved to Birch Bay in February and was commuting to work in Canada up until the end of June. Since then, I have been looking for work and secured a few house cleaning and Airbnb cleaning jobs for the time being. That being said, I am local and available almost all the time now. I take my own dog out about 5-6 times a day and have been assisting my neighbours dogs (2 golden retrievers) while they’ve been away on shorter trips.

Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
While I do live in a condo with stairs, there are several grassed areas in my complex where dogs can relieve themselves. We even have dog bag stations throughout the complex and many owners and renters have dogs here, I can name all of them in my building. My dog goes where I go. She’s allowed on the couch, she’s allowed on my bed. My house is her house as well.

A typical day
I love to take my time when walking my dog because although for me everything looks the same, to a dog the smells are often different. It’s not just about taking them out for a quick potty break, although there are times when that is the case. But rather allowing my dog to investigate is so stimulating for them.

- Please let me know if they are on any kind of medication. I’d like to know if they have a propensity for eating things while on walks. If they have any dietary restrictions or preferences, I need to know that as well.
