I grew up in a home with many cats and dogs. My mother was always taking in animals and I was more than happy to help out. I’ve been dog sitting and cat sitting for 6 years in DC. I moved to NYC last year and really missed dog sitting so I’m reactivating my account for NYC! Happy to answer any questions. I have experience with elderly dogs and special need animals (anxiety, medication). P.S. I love all dog breeds and sizes :) I work close to home (15 min walk) so I’m never far. I work remote twice a week. I live in an apartment with no fence or balcony. However there is a dog park within walking distance, if your dog enjoys parks with other dogs.

Chantal is hands-down one of the best dog sitters we’ve ever had. She has watched our dog, Moose, multiple times, and we could not be more grateful to have found her. Moose absolutely adores her, and she treats him with so much love, patience, and genuine care. Moose has had some health struggles over the years, so leaving him can naturally be stressful, but Chantal gives us peace of mind. She is incredibly attentive to his specific needs and is a wonderful communicator, keeping us updated throughout. We love the daily update photos! Knowing Moose is safe, happy, and so well cared for while we’re away is priceless. We cannot recommend Chantal highly enough!
We left our beloved pup with Chantal during a 10-day long-distance trip. It was such a relief having Chantal take care of J.J. Chantal was responsive to messages from the start. We had a meet-and-greet to make sure everyone was comfortable. During our trip, Chantal sent a couple questions, and kept us updated with pictures and descriptions--it was clear she was getting to know J.J. and they were getting along great. J.J. was happy and healthy when we got back. And while she was happy to see us, she was clearly thrilled to be around Chantal too. Can't ask for much better reassurance than that. We're so thankful we found Chantal, and will definitely look to her when we need a sitter again!
I had total peace of mind leaving my baby with Chantal. It was apparent from our first conversation that she knows that she's doing and I got lots of pictures and updates throughout the stay. My dog generally has some separation anxiety when I'm gone but I could tell when I picked him up that he had a great time.
Chantal has now watched our dog twice, and our dog has so much fun that she never wants to go home! Chantal is great about sending updates and pictures, and we feel at ease leaving our pup in her care. Would highly recommend her to others!
We strongly recommend using Chantal as a dog sitter. She has been watching our dog for almost three years, and we trust her completely! She sends photo updates everyday, is responsive, and most importantly, our dog loves her. She gives him his required medications and adheres to our instructions. Chantal sat for my previous pup, so when I recently adopted Bruno it was a relief knowing I already had a sitter I could trust. She was great with Bruno. Very flexible and responsive and sent plenty of updates. I will definitely ask her to watch him again for me!

Schedule
I’m very active so dog walking suits me quite well. I also live close to my office and many subway stations so it’s easy to get around.

Safety, trust & environment
- I never feed animals any human food - or anything other than what the owner provides. I like to ensure I’m careful in case of any allergies or sensitive stomachs. - I only watch one animal at a time (unless they’re from the same family of course). - I will only take dogs to dog parks if the owner explicitly states it’s ok to do so.
A typical day
Depending on what your dog usually likes to do, I’m happy to go to a nearby park or field or tennis courts and throw the tennis ball (I have plenty). Or if they prefer short walks we can do that too.

- Please let me know if your cat or dog has any special needs I should be aware of, or allergies. I never feed an animal human food (or anything other than the food provided) but it’s always good to know if there’s any serious allergies. Please also describe their regular routine in terms of walks and feeding and if they get along well with other animals or have any odd quirks like eating toilet paper :)
