As a college student home for the summer, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to dedicate plenty of time to pet care throughout the week. I genuinely enjoy being around animals, and spending time with dogs is something I look forward to rather than a chore.

Your pet's safety, comfort, and routine are my top priorities. When caring for pets in your home, I make it a point to follow your instructions closely, including feeding schedules, exercise routines, medication needs, and any household rules your pet is used to. I understand that every dog is different, and I take the time to learn their personality, energy level, and individual needs. During walks and drop-in visits, I stay attentive to my surroundings, use secure leash-handling practices, and make sure pets are safe and comfortable. My experience caring for English Bulldogs has made me especially aware of weather conditions, hydration needs, and signs of overheating, but I apply the same level of care and attention to every breed. My goal is to treat every pet as if they were my own and make sure they feel safe, loved, and stress-free in your absence!

I appreciate knowing about any special needs, medical conditions, medications, dietary restrictions, fears, triggers, or behavioral quirks ahead of time. Please also let me know if your dog has any history of aggression, leash reactivity, anxiety, resource guarding, or discomfort around other dogs, people, or specific situations. I would love to know what your pet enjoys most as well, whether that's long walks, playing fetch, tug-of-war, exploring new smells, or simply relaxing with company. I have experience caring for dogs with very different personalities and energy levels, and the more I know about your pet's routine and behavior, the better I can make sure they feel comfortable, safe, and happy while you're away.
A typical day
When caring for your pet, I'll tailor activities to their energy level and interests. I've always enjoyed spending time with dogs in ways that match their unique personalities. One of my dogs, Dolly, is endlessly energetic and would happily play tug-of-war all day if she could. On the other hand, Frank is much more laid-back and prefers taking his time on walks, stopping to sniff and explore everything around him. Caring for them has taught me that every dog has their own idea of fun. With my previous dog, Freya, some of my favorite memories were taking her on hikes and playing fetch at our local park. I love being active with dogs who enjoy adventure, but I'm just as happy spending time with dogs who prefer a slower pace and lots of affection.

Dogs have always been a huge part of my life. I grew up in a family of dog lovers and have been surrounded by various dogs, of all sizes, my whole life. Presently, I help care for two English Bulldogs, Frank and Dolly, and a rescue Pit Bull named Baxter. My Nana adored English Bulldogs and owned several throughout her life. After she passed away, my mom got Frank in her honor, and our family quickly fell in love with the breed. Frank is the sweetest, most laid-back guy, while Dolly keeps everyone on their toes with her energy and personality. Baxter joined our family this past year after being rescued during a major Indiana snowstorm, and he has proven to be one of the gentlest, most affectionate dogs you could meet. In addition to caring for my own dogs, I have experience volunteering at the Humane Society, where I helped feed, walk, bathe, and comfort dogs of all ages, sizes, and temperaments. Working with rescue dogs taught me patience, attentiveness, and the importance of making every dog feel safe and cared for. As a college student home for the summer, I have a flexible schedule and would love the opportunity to care for your pets. Whether your dog needs a walk, playtime, companionship, or overnight care, I'll treat them with the same love and attention I give my own.
