As a social worker, I'm highly attuned to both human and animal needs/issues, and love getting to know and cater to unique personalities - or provide loving care for those who are ill or have special needs. I started taking care of neighbors' pets at an early age and though we only had fish and birds and a cat at home, dogs and other animals became a special love of mine. I have been cat, dog, bird and other little furry friend sitting for over four decades and have done so for several years as a 5 star sitter on Trusted Housesitters. I love making new furry friends, both for sharing my positive, attentive energy with them, and for nourishing in the innocent sweet playfulness they often offer. The mutual benefits of animal care are no joke! As an avid traveler and travel writer (we social workers need periodic breaks from our big jobs), pet sitting has been a fabulous win-win-for-all! I love immersing in local scenes, and enjoy getting to know the nature, infrastructure, and pulse of new places. Perhaps most importantly, I love hunkering down for writing (I am a published writer in addition to being a social worker) with the delightful energy of furry friends beside me. They seem to like it too! I grew up in a small city, have lived in a major city for over two decades and LOVE being in more rural and remote areas too. You can count on me to bring my strong sense of professionalism and responsibility to your pets and to your home. I’ve often been told that other than happy pets, there was no sign I had even been there!

Safety, trust & environment
Most folks comment that they can barely tell I've been there. Cleanliness, respect, and loving care are my hallmarks. I make sure to honor any requests and instructions for people's homes, which often have quirks and special needs -- and to of course respect privacy too, just as I would as a social worker. As for furry friends, they get exceptional, reliable, patient, playful, caring energy from me while I make sure that all their food, litter, or other needs are met.

Chana took excellent care of my two cats, she stayed overnight with them between house guests while I was away. She is a responsible and caring cat sitter (and house sitter). During my time away she later returned to for a five day extended sit, which was also well done. I highly recommend her as a cat sitter.
Chana took very good care of my two cats, staying in my house with them for five days and nights. She sent me photos of the cats while I was away, reported on how they were doing and took care of some things around the house. Everything was in tip-top shape when I returned and my cats were happy. It was a great comfort knowing the cats were well cared for while I was away. I highly recommend her as a cat sitter, and house sitter.
Chana did an excellent job taking care of my three dogs! She stayed in contact to let us know how things were going and provided us the reassurance that our dogs were in good hands! Thanks Chana! As this experience made our vacation that much better….
Chana has stayed with my senior kitty twice while I was out of town. During the first stay, he became ill and Chana’s attentiveness and clear communication made it so that he got the care he needed and I didn’t have to cut my trip short. I had such a great experience with Chana the first time that I invited her back! My cat loves her and I’ve enjoyed connecting with her before and after my trips. She’s honest, kind, and attentive!
Chana is a wonderful pet and home sitter! She took amazing care of my kittens and could not have been nicer to interact with. Always ready to help, Chana is a great communicator and your pets would be lucky to be in her care!

Schedule
I am currently freelancing/focusing my time on writing projects so I often have a flexible schedule....and love taking work breaks with furry friends! A veteran 5-start pet-sitter, I am new to Rover and am figuring out how the calendar and geography works so it can reflect where I am and when I'm available.
