I recently started my journey with Rover and can’t wait to build lasting relationships with the wonderful pets and pet owners in this community, and am interested in taking care of pets close to Scruggs Rd. My husband and I recently retired and moved to beautiful Smith Mountain Lake off of Scruggs Rd. Now, I’m thrilled to have the time to reconnect with my love for animals! There’s nothing I enjoy more than walking, playing, running, and, of course, snuggling with dogs and all furry family members. I’ve had dogs throughout most of my life, and even as a child, I was the one in my family who eagerly cared for and spent time with our pets. Over the years, I’ve also cared for cats (whether they were our own or friends'), as well as rabbits, fish, and even horses. In addition, I’ve volunteered with Animal Welfare Leagues, where I enjoyed spending time with animals awaiting their forever homes and helping with various housekeeping tasks. I’ve also been involved in horse therapy for special needs children, working as a side walker and caring for the horses.
