Let me love your pets when you cant
I've been a dog owner for over 20 years, if you count the family dog we got when I was 7 (I know I look young, but I am in my 30's. Please do not mistake my appearance for inexperience) I've been house and pet sitting since middle school around my neighborhood and for friends. Mostly I have been doing it for the love of spending time with animals. I especially like house sitting, it's fun to just go hang out with a pet in their space. In middle school, I worked at a dog groomers and gained experience working around a variety of breeds and temperments at a young age. My family dog in high school was diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder and required daily medication administered orally. It didn't take her very long to figure out what the pill pockets meant so getting her to take her meds sometimes took a bit of creativity and always took a lot of patience. I also have experience with caring for rodents, hedgehogs, ferrets, fish, reptiles etc.

I know what it's like to view pets as family and worry about them while you're away. I wouldn't provide any less care for your pet than I would my own (and she is spoiled as heck). I will work with you to figure out what schedule you expect for visits and walks while I'm watching your animals and will do my best to meet those expectations. I will also provide updates on how your animals are doing while you're away. I like to get to know the animals I am watching and get a feel for their personal boundaries. Have a very shy cat? I'll leave them alone and use litter box and food bowls to determine signs of life. Older pet with achey hips? Extra careful and tender petting. I want your pets to feel as safe as possible in your absence. If there is anything you can let me know about them to help me achieve this goal, please tell me everything! Conversely, I also have to be mindful of my own safety. If you have aggressive dogs, let me know if there are any tricks to handling them. The key to keeping everyone safe is to have as much information as possible and know my limits. I prefer to do a meet and greet in advance to get a feel for your dog with you present. In addition to dogs and cats, I do have a small amount of experience with watching reptiles, mostly feeding and checking temps. There was a bearded dragon I watched for a week who I took to the park by her house for some sunshine every day (yes I am willing to go the extra mile to sit in the park with a lizard for an hour). I have owned several small mammals of my own, including a hedgehog.

Ceilidh was great! Took excellent, reliable care of our two dogs while we were away for a long weekend. Was flexible and came to do regular feedings and walks. Will definitely be using her services again.

Schedule
I am currently working full time. I can do drop ins on my lunch break if you're close enough to my job and I can always do before 9 am and after 5pm. For walks and drop Ins prior to noon I do need notice at least the day before, I'm not much of a morning person but I can make it happen if I know in advance. Other than that I can do same day bookings. I do spend Sunday evenings in the Denver area for family dinner but I'm usually back in Longmont by 9 If your home is more than a 15 min drive from my home I may add a small amount to the fee for walks and drop ins just to make it worth the extra drive time.
