Pet care experience
Trusted Home for Happy Dogs
Dogs have always been family to me. When I care for your dog, I treat them with the same patience, respect, and affection that I give my own. I am a dog trainer with experience using positive reinforcement, reading canine body language, and building trust with dogs as individuals. My experience comes from years of hands-on care, training my own dogs, including my service dog, volunteering with rescues and shelters, and learning from every dog I have had the privilege to know. What makes my care different is that I pay attention to the little things. I am someone who notices changes in behavior, possible ear concerns, nail or coat issues, discomfort, or anything unusual that an owner should know about. My goal is not just to supervise your dog, but to truly care for their well-being and communicate with you. I have experience with dogs of many sizes, breeds, and personalities, from small dogs around 4 pounds to large dogs over 90 pounds. I have cared for bully breeds, German Shepherds, Rottweilers, Goldendoodles, Poodles, rescue dogs, senior dogs, and dogs with special medical needs. Caring for my own Golden Retriever with myasthenia gravis and megaesophagus taught me the importance of patience, careful routines, and individualized care. I also have grooming experience, including bathing, brushing, nail trims, ear cleaning, and coat maintenance. I enjoy helping dogs feel comfortable and cared for. When appropriate, I love adding personal touches, such as sending dogs home with a toy or making homemade treats. I always check for allergies and dietary needs first to make sure everything is safe for your dog. I believe dogs need both physical exercise and mental enrichment. Depending on the dog, our day may include walks, fetch, training games, agility activities, puzzle toys, and playtime designed around their personality and energy level. My home is a dog-friendly environment where I focus on safety, comfort, and making dogs feel at home. Since I have a senior service dog, I take introductions seriously and make sure every dog is a good match for my home. My goal is simple: when your dog is with me, I want them to feel loved, understood, and cared for—not just watched.

Cecilia loves dogs. She is very conscientious. She adopted Sparky at a few months of age, and she's been training him. Her experience is not limited to dogs. She volunteered at a horse rehabilitation farm, and she's very good with horses.

Schedule
Pet care is an important part of my daily routine. I care for my own dogs in the morning, so I am usually available after 11 AM. Tuesdays and Thursdays are great days for daycare since I am home and able to provide attention, playtime, and companionship. I also take an evening break around 6:30 PM for my dogs’ dinner routine and am usually available again after 8 PM. I am happy to work with each client to find a schedule that fits both their pet’s needs and my availability. My goal is to provide reliable, loving care while making sure every dog feels comfortable and happy.

Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
I am a positive reinforcement dog trainer, and I use my knowledge of dog behavior to provide safe, patient, and understanding care. I focus on building trust with each dog by learning their individual personality, comfort level, routines, and needs. Safety is one of my top priorities. I am someone who pays attention to the details and notices changes that may be easy to miss, such as changes in behavior, possible ear concerns, nail issues, skin irritation, coat problems, or anything that seems unusual for that dog. I always communicate with owners if I notice something concerning so we can work together to decide the best care for their pet. I have grooming experience, including bathing, brushing, nail trims, ear cleaning, and coat maintenance. I enjoy helping dogs feel comfortable and cared for, and I understand that regular grooming is an important part of a dog’s overall well-being. I have created a dog-friendly and senior-friendly environment in my home. I have ramps, orthopedic beds, and accommodations to help small dogs, senior dogs, and dogs who may need extra support feel comfortable. I also keep dog first aid supplies available and take safety seriously. I have two furry friends of my own who enjoy keeping other dogs company and providing opportunities for safe play and companionship. Because I have a senior service dog, I take introductions seriously and make sure dogs are a good personality match before daycare or boarding. I also use separate feeding areas and safe separation when needed to help prevent stress and protect each dog’s space. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I respect your space and leave things the way I found them. I make sure your pet’s routine, comfort, and care are my priority. My goal is to create a safe, positive, and welcoming experience where every dog feels understood, loved, and truly cared for.

A typical day
A typical day with me includes plenty of attention, enrichment, and activities based on each dog’s needs, personality, age, and energy level. I believe dogs need a balance of exercise, mental stimulation, training, rest, and love. I enjoy taking dogs for walks, playing fetch, and providing activities that help them stay happy and engaged. I love going for walks and often start my day with a longer walk, sometimes one to two hours, depending on the dogs’ needs and abilities. I am happy to walk dogs individually if that helps them feel more comfortable, which is one reason I typically care for only one to two dogs at a time. This allows me to provide more personalized attention and make sure each dog gets the care they deserve. Throughout the day, dogs will have opportunities for bathroom breaks, fresh water checks, playtime, and rest. I make sure each dog’s routine is respected, including their feeding schedule, comfort needs, and downtime. I also enjoy adding positive reinforcement training into the day through training games, practicing manners, confidence-building exercises, and fun activities. For dogs who enjoy extra challenges, I have an indoor agility area and enrichment activities to keep their minds and bodies active. My home has plenty of enrichment options, including puzzle toys, treat-based games, and lots of toys for dogs to enjoy. I joke that my dog toy shopping habit has given my house an endless supply of toys, but it means every dog has opportunities for play, engagement, and fun. I live near a dog park that is often quiet, which can provide an opportunity for extra exercise, fetch, and playtime when it is appropriate for the dog’s temperament, training, and comfort level. I also love adding personal touches to make dogs feel special. When appropriate, I enjoy sending dogs home with a toy as a small gift or making homemade dog treats. I always ask owners about allergies, sensitivities, and dietary restrictions first so I can make sure anything a dog receives is safe for them. My goal is to provide a balanced day filled with exercise, enrichment, training, play, rest, and positive interactions so every dog feels safe, happy, and cared for like family.
