Your Pet’s New Favorite Friend

Hey there, I’m Kate! I’ve been caring for pets for over a decade and bring a calm energy and genuine love for animals to every booking. I recently launched a creative events studio with my sister, Jess and since we work from home, your pup is rarely, if ever, alone. If one of us runs an errand, the other is on duty. What our day might look like: We like to start bright and early around 7 AM. I aim for at least 3 walks a day, plus backyard play. I’m big on mental health for dogs, so expect plenty of enrichment games like treat scavenger hunts and "towel roll" puzzles to keep their brains happy. For overnights, you’ll have one dedicated sitter staying at your place, but you get the peace of mind of having two people looking out for your loved ones. (Of course, if your dog is independent and doesn't need the double coverage, we are happy to keep it simple!). We love the "quirky" ones: We grew up in a house full of rescues and know not every dog is easy-breezy. We have a soft spot for those with big feelings, health problems, reactive pups, and energetic zoomies. We take one family at a time so we can give them 100% of our focus. Our Promise: Aesthetic Updates: As a creative, I love taking photos. Expect daily updates with high-quality pics of our adventures. Respect: We are non-smokers who treat your home like we would ours. We cant wait to meet you!

Catherine is wonderful! I have an older dog who can be anxious and I’m always comfortable and know she has it handled when she watches him. She provides regular updates and I had some unexpected travel delays and she was very accommodating.

Kate and Jess took such good care of my pup Aster during a day gig. I could tell she had a great time. I will definitely choosing them again!

Schedule

Pet sitting fits really naturally into my schedule! I work part-time at a café in the early mornings, which means my afternoons and evenings are wide open. However, as mentioned, since me and my sister do this together, there will always be one of us available to be with your pet at all times!

Safety, trust & environment

The biggest risk with a solo sitter is: "What if they get sick or have an emergency?" Because Jess and I work as a team, there is always a backup. Your dog is never left stranded. Strict "One Client" Rule: We do not stack bookings. There will be no strange dogs introduced to your pet, eliminating the risk of fights, illness, or unnecessary stress. Door Safety: We practice "air-lock" entries and exits (ensuring one barrier is closed before opening another) to prevent door-dashing. Walk Awareness: When walking, our phone is away and our eyes are up. We are hyper-aware of surroundings, loose dogs, and street hazards. Cleanliness & Respect: We treat your home as a sanctuary. We wipe muddy paws before entering, clean up the backyard daily, and ensure the house is spotless for your return.

A typical day

For my high-energy dogs, our day starts bright and early around 7AM with coffee and a walk (typically 30-45 minutes). Afterward, I head home to make breakfast and work on my laptop while your pup relaxes nearby. I love keeping dogs mentally sharp, so I often incorporate enrichment games like hiding treats around the house or creating 'towel roll' puzzles to keep them entertained. I aim for at least four walks a day, plus backyard playtime if your dog has extra energy to burn (though I’m happy to keep things low-key for relaxed pups!). We end the day with dinner, couch snuggles during a movie, and one final potty break before bed. What else you can expect: Daily Updates: As a creative, I love taking photos. Expect daily updates with cute pics of our adventures so you feel connected. The Team Advantage: Since I work with my sister, Jes, we have a built-in backup system so your dog is rarely alone. Respect for your Home: I treat your space like a sanctuary, keeping it tidy and leaving it spotless for your return. We are also available to help with any errands or chores needed while you are away.

Does your dog get protective over food, toys, or high-value treats? Can I take a bone away from them safely? Do they try to bolt out the door when it opens? If we see another dog on a walk, what is their typical reaction? Do you want me to cross the street, or distract them with treats? Are there anywhere they don't like being touched? (Paws, ears, tail?) As mentioned in my profile, my sister and business partner Kate helps me ensure 24/7 coverage. Are you comfortable with her coming to the home to swap shifts or hang out during the day? Where do they sleep at night? In a crate, a dog bed, or on the bed with me? Are they allowed on the couch? (If not, do they try to get on the couch?) Can they be left alone? What is the time limit? (e.g., 4 hours max?) Are there any food allergies or dietary restrictions? Do they try to eat things off the street on walks? (Chicken bones, trash, etc.) Who is your primary vet, and do you have a preferred 24-hour emergency vet?
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
