I usually don’t leave negative reviews, but this experience was so stressful that I felt the need to share. At first, the sitter was very communicative and provided clear instructions on how my cat would be boarded for 10 days while I was out of town. However, when I arrived to drop off my cat, she refused to show me the room where my cat would be staying, citing personal reasons for not allowing strangers into her home. While I found this unusual, I respected her decision. Shortly after, I requested a simple photo of my cat’s boarding setup for peace of mind before my flight the next day. Instead of accommodating this reasonable request, the sitter became defensive, insisting that I should "just trust her" and that I was overreacting. I repeatedly explained that I would be out of town and wanted confirmation that my cat was in a safe and suitable environment. She refused, saying she would send a photo the next day—too late for me to make alternate arrangements if needed. At this point, I no longer felt comfortable leaving my cat with her and decided to cancel the booking. Only after I canceled did she finally send a photo. I then receive a call from the sitter saying she can’t return my cat to me. It was a very stressful long negotiation on the call where I was almost begging the sitter to return my cat. The sitter claimed I was emotional, overreacting, inconveniencing her family and that it was impossible for her to get my cat into the crate. I offered to help bring my cat to the crate but she said she wouldn’t let me in the house. She said I can wait out her door all night and that's how it’s going to be. With no other option, I threatened to contact Rover's emergency services. Only then did she apologize and finally agree to return my cat. I did get my cat and her belongings back safely, but the entire ordeal was incredibly stressful and unnecessary. Ultimately, I cannot recommend this sitter. A good pet caregiver should understand that trust is built through transparency, not blind faith.
