Growing up in Northern Ireland, I had cats and dogs (2 golden retrievers and a border collie/retriever mix) and often looked after friends, family and neighbours' pets when they were on vacation. I've lived in Montreal for 15 years and many friends here have entrusted me with looking after their pets over the years too. I had my own dog, June, who passed away from cancer in 2023. June was an Arabian Saluki rescue and was nervous in certain situations, especially around other dogs, so I have a lot of experience dealing with leash reactivity, positive reinforcement training and managing stress levels (the dog's and my own)! I have a lot of patience and a gentle approach - I will always try to ensure that a dog is as comfortable and happy as possible in my presence. The same goes for cats! I am lucky to have an extremely affectionate cat (Momo) but I know not all cats want a human in their face, so I will give them as much attention as they want (or just give them their space, if that's what they need!) I would be honoured to be trusted with caring for your pet!
