I love anything outdoors, specifically running and hiking, so I love taking dogs with me on my little adventures. I also love knitting and reading, which cats love to watch. I am pretty active, so can go on as many walks as needed. I do like to keep busy (I'm an engineering major!), so I will make good use of my time if I’m house/pet sitting by cleaning and organizing. I'm most available on weekends due to my class schedule.

Something I find is really important when working with animals is trust. I’m never going to force a dog to be near me. When I am respectful towards them, they typically respond with mutual respect. For one, when first meeting an animal i’ll let it come up to me on its own and sniff my hand to get used to me. I don’t mind when they jump on me, but I won’t run up and try to play with them immediately.

I would like to know the temperament of your pet and how much energy they typically have. I don’t mind high energy animals at all. I also like to know how long of walks they typically go on, or if they would like to run with me. Any allergies or triggers would help me out too.
A typical day
I love going on walks or runs with dogs. Especially at Greenlake, which is this park nearby. I really like exploring new places too, even if it’s just a new neighborhood. I like to play fetch with cats with springs or laser toys. My cat loves anything that gets her running around.

Growing up, my family never had a pet so I would always offer to walk my neighbors’ or friends’ dogs. When I got older and got my driver's license, I began to take official jobs dog and house sitting. These past 3 years I have been using Rover, and it has gained me some great experience. I've watched all kinds of animals: rabbits, turtles, rats, reptiles, hamsters, savannah cats, bengals, and, of course, dogs. I'm currently studying at the University of Washington in Seattle most of the year, but I still offer to work on Rover because I enjoy it. I am very active and love taking dogs on a run or long walk if they are up for that. However, I do love my relaxation time and I find that cats love to watch me knit or read (or study!).
