Solo Dog Boarding in Our Cosy Home
I’ve been around dogs my entire life and caring for them comes naturally to me. I hold a Level 3 OFQUAL qualification in dog boarding and am fully licensed by Durham County Council, giving you extra peace of mind that your pet is in safe and professional hands. I’m confident handling dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments—including energetic puppies and elderly dogs who may need a bit more patience and gentle care. Whether your dog needs structured playtime, calm companionship, or specific routines, I’m well-prepared to provide personalised, reliable care every time.

Ratings and reviews
Catherine was brilliant and Tec seemed to have a great time - he needed coaxing to leave!

Catherine looked after Kylie again for us. She was well looked after as usual, with updates and videos whilst we were away! I would definitely recommend Catherine!
My dog Kylie seemed to be really well looked after by Catherine - right amount of exercise, trips to dog park. Seems to have made herself at home - sleeping on bed etc!! Catherine sent me some photos to show how it was going and Kylie appeared relaxed and content when at home and running around in dog park. I will definitely use Catherine again and fully recommend her!
We met Catherine to introduce Misty as she is an older dog with hearing and sight problems. Catherine seemed very capable of coping with her. We left Misty later for 6 nights and received photos to reassure us she was ok. When we collected her Misty was clearly well and had been looked after as we had hoped. We think Catherine enjoyed having Misty to stay and we would be happy to leave her again.
Our dog loved his stay and would highly recommend Catherine

Schedule
Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I work from home part-time, which gives me the flexibility to provide plenty of attention, exercise, and companionship throughout the day. I would be the only person caring for your dog, giving them personalised attention throughout the day. I also have a school-age child, so the home is calm during school hours—perfect for pets who enjoy a quieter environment. Your dog will be treated as part of the family while they’re with me.

Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
In my home, pets enjoy a relaxed, homely environment with plenty of comfort and freedom. I have a secure, fenced garden where dogs can play safely and have frequent access throughout the day. I'm also lucky to have easy access to scenic rural walks, perfect for dogs who enjoy stretching their legs and exploring nature. Dogs in my care are welcome to make themselves at home—whether that means lounging on the sofa, sleeping on the bed, or finding their own cosy spot. I always work around each dog’s existing routine to ensure continuity and comfort, whether that’s feeding schedules, exercise needs, or quiet time. Their wellbeing is my top priority.
A typical day
Two walks a day, exploring local countryside routes and splashing in streams. Enrichment activities, including interactive games, scent games, puzzle feeders. Let's not forget plenty of cuddle time!
