Pet care experience

Lab-Tested🐾, Dog Approved

Dogs have always been part of our family. Most recently, we shared 12 wonderful years with our yellow lab, JD. After an aggressive cancer diagnosis, we spent his final months providing senior care, treatments, extra comfort, and all the love he deserved. Saying goodbye was heartbreaking, but it reminded us just how much love we still have to give to dogs. We live on a fully fenced half-acre with plenty of room for sniffing, exploring, playing fetch, and zoomies. Inside, your dog will find comfortable places to relax, nap, and feel right at home. Daily walks, playtime, and plenty of attention are all part of the experience. What sets us apart is our lifelong experience as pet owners and our commitment to treating every dog like family. I also have experience as a professional dog groomer, which has given me additional knowledge of canine behavior, handling, grooming needs, and overall care. Whether your dog is an energetic puppy, an active adult, or a senior who needs a slower pace and extra patience, we understand that every pet is unique. We know how important it is to trust someone with your furry family member, and we take that responsibility seriously. Our goal is simple: to provide a safe, loving home away from home where your dog feels comfortable, cared for, and loved.

Cate is one of the most competent animal caregivers I have ever known. She is patient, assertive, observant, and attentive. She has decades of experience as an assistant groomer, a pet sitter, and pet owner. She has watched my pets over the years, and she has consistently provided the highest level of care. I recommend her wholeheartedly!

Catherine is a responsible and loving pet caregiver. She is perceptive to the pet and pet owner's needs. She has cared for four of my pets. The care they received was excellent. I have made the comment that I would not mind coming back in my next life as one of Catherine's pets. She communicated their needs and how she met them.

Schedule

One of us is almost always home, allowing us to provide consistent supervision, companionship, and care throughout the day. During the workweek, we work remotely and build regular potty breaks, play sessions, and walks into our routine (weather and temperatures permitting). Weekends offer even more opportunities for outdoor time in our fully fenced half-acre yard, where dogs can safely explore, sniff, play, and enjoy plenty of zoomies. When it's time to relax, your pup can curl up indoors on comfortable cushions and enjoy all the attention and affection they want. We believe dogs thrive when they're part of the family, so your pet won't be left alone for long periods and will receive the same care, comfort, and love we'd want for our own.

Safety, trust & environment

Your dog's safety and comfort are our top priorities. We have a quiet home with no children, no other pets, and very few visitors, creating a calm environment where dogs can relax and feel secure. Our fully fenced half-acre yard provides plenty of space for supervised outdoor play, exploration, and exercise. We avoid using pesticides and weed treatments to help maintain a pet-safe environment both inside and outside the home. We understand that every dog has different needs and routines. We have dog gates available to create comfortable spaces when needed, and a crate can be provided for dogs who are crate-trained or simply feel more secure having a space of their own. Whether your dog loves to play, lounge in the sun, or curl up for a nap indoors, we'll tailor their care to help them feel safe, comfortable, and right at home. When caring for pets, we follow their owners' routines and preferences as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, exercise needs, medications, and any special instructions. Our goal is to provide the same level of care, attention, and love that we would want for our own dog.

A typical day

Every dog has their own idea of fun, and we love tailoring activities to match their personality, energy level, and owner preferences. For active dogs, we'll enjoy walks through our safe neighborhood (typically around 2-3 miles), giving them plenty of opportunities to sniff, explore, and catch up on all the latest "pee-mails" from their canine friends. At home, our fully fenced half-acre yard provides lots of room for fetch, zoomies, and supervised outdoor adventures among pet-safe plants and plenty of interesting smells. For dogs who prefer a slower pace, we're just as happy to relax together, enjoy cuddle time, or curl up with a good book while they nap nearby. We can also incorporate approved treats, training exercises, or enrichment activities requested by owners to help maintain routines and reinforce good habits. On rainy or cold-weather days, we keep minds and bodies active indoors with games like tug, hide-and-seek, treat puzzles, and "find the toy" challenges to provide mental stimulation and keep tails wagging. Whether your dog is an athlete, an explorer, a couch companion, or a little bit of everything, we'll make sure they have a safe, engaging, and fun stay.
