Highlights
Pet care experience
Caring, reliable walker & sitter
I’ve been caring for dogs since I was 13 and have 9 years of hands-on experience. My family has two Boston Terriers (ages 7 and 9), so I’m very comfortable with daily routines like feeding, walks, playtime, and lots of attention and cuddles. Both of my family dogs require extra medical assistance so I am also able to care for pets with physical ailments and medications. I’ve also cared for dogs in my extended circle, including a Shih Tzu (age 5), a mini doodle (age 3), and a very skittish rescue Treeing Walker Coonhound age 11), and I’ve spent time around a Greyhound and Boxers when I was younger. I love getting to know each dog’s personality and adjusting to what they need, whether that’s an energetic walk, a slower stroll, or a cozy day at home. I have a flexible schedule with mostly online classes, so I can take dogs out throughout the day and provide consistent companionship and check-ins.

Ratings and reviews
We had the most incredible experience with Catharine. Our family had booked a vacation months ago and arranged dog boarding back in January for our pup, Clover. Just a few days before we were supposed to fly out of the country, our original boarder suddenly cancelled due to an unexpected personal situation. With our luggage packed and our departure coming up fast, we were in full panic mode trying to figure out who could take care of him last-minute (for 11 nights!). We started messaging every boarder in Kingston, and everyone was either booked, unavailable, or didn’t respond. Catharine was the only person who got back to us with a 'yes' right away. We had never met her before, so we were understandably anxious. She offered to meet us the very next day, just a few hours before she was scheduled to catch a train to Toronto. From the moment we met her, she was warm, friendly, and instantly put us at ease. While we were away with the kids, she sent us daily photos, videos, and updates. Those updates meant the world to us. Clover bonded with her so quickly, and it was clear he was having a wonderful time. She even went out of her way to give him fruit and veggie treats like strawberries and cucumbers, took him on lots of walks, let him sunbathe outside, practiced the tricks our kids taught him, and gave him all the cuddles he could ever want. Catharine turned one of the most stressful moments of our dog‑ownership lives into something genuinely positive. Clover was loved, cared for, and happy the entire time. We are so grateful for her kindness and the way she stepped in when we needed help the most. We would give her 6 stars if we could! Thank you, Catharine!

Schedule
Pet care fits really well into my routine because my schedule is flexible. As a graduate student I am able to make my own schedule with classes and such. So, I’m available every other day for walks, drop-ins, and extended visits, and I’m also fully available on weekends! I’m happy to match your dog’s usual routine for potty breaks, meals, and exercise.

Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
I take safety and wellbeing seriously and focus on calm, consistent care. Whether I’m in your home or boarding in mine, I follow instructions closely for feeding, walks, medications (if needed), and any house rules. I’m careful with doors, leashes, and secure transitions in and out of the home, and I supervise closely - especially with new environments or introductions. I can use a crate if that’s part of your dog’s normal routine, and I keep a clean, comfortable space with regular potty breaks, exercise, and plenty of attention. I’m also happy to send updates so you always know how your pet is doing!
A typical day
A typical day includes a calm check-in, then a structured walk with lots of sniff breaks and chances to explore. I love mixing physical exercise with mental stimulation like basic cues (sit, wait, leave it), mini “find it” scent games, and playtime. We’ll check out new smells around my neighbourhood and do laps around the nearby track with the park area around it, then cool down with water, a rest break, and a cuddle check-in.

- Please let me know about any special needs, triggers, reactivity, allergies, medical routines, or behaviours (pulling, barking at dogs, guarding, anxiety, or fear of loud noises). I also like to know your dog’s energy level, feeding schedule, and favourite rewards. I’m comfortable caring for senior dogs and pups with special needs, including dogs who need medications, extra patience, slower-paced walks, mobility support, or more frequent potty breaks. The more you can share about their routine and what helps them feel calm and safe, the better I can tailor care to them.
