I am writing to recommend Catherine “Cate” M. to you. I have had the honor of knowing Cate since her parents brought her home for the first time. Over the years I have watched Cate participate fully in life. I don’t think there any many things that Cate is afraid to attempt. As a child she raised chickens, sold the eggs, and fought off foxes. On a Youth Mission trip to Louisiana she went alligator hunting (with a phone camera). Cate takes responsibility seriously. This past summer she participated in a Youth Mission Trip to Lake Providence, Louisiana. During some of the hottest days in the summer of 2017 we worked with Together for Hope to clean up a cemetery and paint an exterior concrete block community building. Cate worked hard and with her sense of humor encouraged the others. In the evenings Cate led our debriefings and did a good job of including everyone and seeing that everyone was heard. Cate is the kind of person who makes every situation better. She comes into a room and everyone is glad to see her. Old and young people want to be around her. Y'all will be very fortunate to have a leader like Cate Mancano.
