Safety, trust & environment

The most important thing for me, is to adapt to what the owners expect. Every dog is different and nobody knows that better than the owners, so I’ll use their guidance to adapt effectively. However, there are a few aspects that I find more sensitive and relevant when taking care of any dog: - their diet: respecting the owner’s choice to feed them with the products and schedules that they consider appropriate. - safety when going on walks: always having them on a leash and keeping the socialization in accordance to the owner’s preference as well as the dog’s personality. - attention to detail: in an attempt to understand the messages that the dogs send us constantly through body language to identify their specific needs. - leisure: playing with toys, treats hide & seek, sniffing tours when on walks, petting them when and where necessary. All this to allow them to stimulate their senses and their cognition and reduce stress and boredom.

Pet care experience

Dogs have been my greatest teachers. Growing up, I subscribed to every dog-related magazine, I watched -potentially- all dog documentaries on Animal Planet and Nat Geo, I learned about the most popular dog breeds at the time, I dreamed of having a dog shelter and rescue all the street dogs in my city. While studying for my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in neuropsychology, my most curious and odd academic interest was canine cognition, to the point that I’ve read books about their evolution, cognition and genetics. Growing up, I was always surrounded by dogs, and from an early age I learned to love them and respect them as part of the family without leaving aside their nature. I love them for their animal nature, but I understand and appreciate the huge impact of our human nurture on them. Nowadays, a simple gaze from them can make me fall in love instantly, and I treat each and every dog I meet the same way I treat my dogs back home whenever I have the fortune to go to Colombia to spend time with them.

Catalina is a dream. I’m at peace knowing my dog Keta will be loved, played with and cared for. Food and walks are handled expertly. She even took care of my baby fish.
