Hello all! I'm a biology grad student at the University of Saskatchewan studying mallard ducks. I've always loved animals my whole life and have dog walked and pet sat ever since my parents would allow. I've grown up with dogs and cats alike and have even had experience with birds, guinea pigs, and baby goats (yes they were the cutest). I used to volunteer for a service dog training program, and through that organization, I've learned how to care for dogs from the age of 3 months and older, socialize them, train basic obedience, and understand their behavioral cues and patterns. Not only that, but I volunteer at the wildlife center and have experience with more exotic animals, like birds and rabbits (and cute little ground squirrels!). With that position, I’ve been able to administer medicine, clean cages, keep track of important notices, and communicate well with other staff members. It’s one of my favorite parts of the week. Everyone has pet sitting experience, but I’m unique in the fact that I not only have a high level of dog socialization and training experience, combined with experience related to medical issues and more exotic animals. And of course, it’s not every day you see someone that studies ducks for a living! I would absolutely love to help you and your pets with pet care, walking, or even training.
