Playtime, Walks, and Lots of Love

I’ve been an animal lover my entire life and have owned multiple dogs over the years. I currently have a dog named Maverick, who is full of energy and loves to play, explore, and be involved in everything. Caring for him has given me hands-on experience with daily routines like feeding, exercise, training reinforcement, and making sure dogs feel safe, happy, and loved. In addition to dogs, I’ve worked extensively with horses, which has given me a strong understanding of animal behavior, body language, and responsibility. Working with large animals requires patience, awareness, consistency, and trust — skills that translate directly into providing calm, attentive care for pets of all sizes and temperaments. I’m comfortable with high-energy dogs, playful puppies, and animals that just need companionship and routine. I take pride in being reliable, observant, and genuinely caring, and I treat every pet as if they were my own. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are always my top priority.

Cassidy is friendly and capable. She went out of her way to be sure Isla was safe and had a good time. Isla and her dog Maverick were great buddies and kept each other busy, it was obvious he had fun. So happy that Cassidy is around for future bookings!

Schedule

Pet care fits seamlessly into my daily and weekly routine. As an entrepreneur who works from home, I have a flexible schedule and spend most of my time at home, which allows me to give pets consistent attention throughout the day rather than leaving them alone for long stretches. My days already revolve around caring for animals, including daily walks, playtime, feeding schedules, and check-ins. Because I manage my own schedule, I’m able to accommodate regular walks, drop-in visits, and overnight care while maintaining routines that pets are comfortable with. I enjoy getting outside for walks and making sure dogs get both physical activity and mental stimulation. Working from home also allows me to be attentive to each pet’s needs, whether that’s extra playtime, medication reminders, or simply companionship. I’m dependable, organized, and intentional about keeping pets on a consistent routine so they feel safe, relaxed, and well cared for.

Safety, trust & environment

When caring for pets in my home or in a client’s home, I focus on maintaining their normal routine so they feel comfortable, secure, and stress-free. I follow all care instructions closely, including feeding schedules, walk routines, playtime, and any special needs or preferences. In my home, pets receive plenty of attention, supervision, and engagement throughout the day. I make sure they get regular walks, playtime, and downtime, and I provide a calm, safe environment where they can relax and feel at home. I’m attentive to each pet’s personality and energy level, whether they love to stay active or prefer a quieter routine. When caring for pets in their own home, I respect the space and stick closely to their established routine. I ensure they are fed on time, exercised, and given plenty of companionship. I also keep pet parents updated with messages and photos so they feel confident and informed while they’re away. No matter where the care takes place, I treat every pet as if they were my own, prioritizing safety, comfort, and happiness at all times.

A typical day

I love keeping pets active, happy, and engaged while they’re in my care. Depending on their energy level and preferences, we’ll go on scenic walks to the beach or nearby parks to get fresh air, exercise, and new smells. These walks are always done safely and at a pace that’s comfortable for your pet. At home, there’s a small fenced-in outdoor area at my apartment that’s great for quick potty breaks and supervised playtime. For dogs who enjoy socializing and off-leash fun (with owner approval), we can also visit a local dog park in Newport for extra play and enrichment. In addition to walks and outdoor time, I make sure pets get plenty of one-on-one attention through play, mental stimulation, and downtime. Whether your dog loves exploring, playing fetch, or just relaxing after a good walk, I tailor activities to match their personality and needs.

Before caring for a pet, I like to learn a few important details to make sure they’re comfortable, safe, and well cared for. This includes their daily routine, feeding schedule, walk preferences, and any commands or training cues they respond to. I also ask about temperament, energy level, and how they interact with other dogs, people, or new environments. Knowing whether a pet is shy, playful, reactive, or highly social helps me tailor care and activities to their needs. Health and safety information is especially important, including allergies, medications, medical conditions, vet contact information, and any past injuries. I also like to know about any behaviors to watch for, such as anxiety triggers, escape tendencies, or food sensitivities. Lastly, I ask about household rules and preferences — things like allowed furniture, crate use, leash habits, and favorite toys or treats. The more I know ahead of time, the better I can keep your pet happy, safe, and on their normal routine while you’re away.
