I’ve been pet and house sitting (in addition to childcare,) for 10 or so years now. My goal is to ensure my clients come home from their trips to that “just the way we left it” feeling. I’m currently freelancing and work from home so my availability is flexible, and I don’t mind traveling a little to help a pet and their owner out! I help with a variety of tasks to make sure your time away from home is nothing but a breeze, from maintaining clients gardens and dehumidifiers, taking out the trash, etc. But mostly, I do this for the walks. I love getting out my own energy along with your pupper, and I think a wagged-out doggo is the best doggo. My own Shiba Inu, Sammy, is nearing 11 now. I became his primary owner when my parents divorced about 6 years ago, and he has taught me so much in those last few years, about reading your dog’s mood and vibes, so to speak... In that time I helped to raise my ex’s rescue from just 8 weeks old, and learned just how important patience and routine are in a dog’s world. Pet and house sitting for a family friend for the past 4 years, I’ve worked with an elderly cat and an energetic, medium-large, mixed “Miss Daisy,” and am recently taking on their new kitten addition. I’ll bring in the paper, water their flowers and plants, make sure the pets are fed/“watered,” and entertained! It’s my favorite part of the summer, which is why I’m looking to expand and take on new pets to walk and, well, pet!
