My practice when staying at your home is to leave the place cleaner and neater than how I found it. I relish doing a great job for you so that I become a repeat sitter for your animals. I'm comfortable crating your animals, rotating animals as needed, or separating animals that may not get along. I'll follow your instructions explicitly and ensure that your pets have a great time!
Information Casey would like to know about your pet
Firstly, the basics: What does your pet eat and what is their typical routine? I like to try to stick to that as much as possible while you're away so your animals feel comfortable. I'd like to know what their typical day looks like, their interests, and their exercise / medical needs (if any). Secondly: Emergency contact information including a local friend or family member who can be contacted in case of emergency (especially if you're travelling in a different state or out of the country). Primary veterinarian information including location & phone number, and a trusted emergency hospital in case. *For bigger trips when you're away, it's a good idea to have your credit card information on file at your local vet or ER vet and a letter of instruction/email to their office authorizing care.* Last: Does your pet have any quirks that may cause them to have an issue while you're away, such as separation anxiety, pica / chewing / destruction or ingestion of household items, door darting, or counter surfing? I firmly believe it's better to be over-prepared in situations where your pet could get potentially hurt so that I can provide both care for your pet and security for you as their owner while you're away.
A typical day
I'd love to take your dogs on walks in a safe area or on a trail or at a park. Wherever your dog likes to go, I'd go! I'm a big fan of letting dogs explore (on leash of course)! A dog's nose is really powerful and they can get a lot of enrichment by just sniffing the world around them. For dogs that like to stay indoors, we can have fun by playing with toys, doing enrichment exercises, or just lounging about and cuddling! Whatever your dog is into, I'm ready! I'm really easy-going with cats and will assess their needs based on what a typical day would be for them. I've had cats that just hide from new people and I've had cats that expect cuddles from the moment I walk in the door! It all depends on their specific personality, and with any pet - cat or dog - I'll do what makes them feel most comfortable at home.

Trusted & Caring Pet Professional
Pet care experience
Whether you have a sweet baby angel at home or a Tasmanian devil you've convinced everyone is your loving pet, I have seen it all and am well prepared to handle any behavioral, physical, or emotional needs your pet may have! Coming to my area for vacation, business, or a wedding? Bring your pets along I can care for your pets at your rental as well! I have over 14 years of professional experience with shelter animals, fosters, dog daycare and training clients in addition to pet sitting clients. As a professional animal trainer for 10+ years, I have been able to work with many different dog and cat personalities. I've fostered countless dogs both large and small, with special needs, medical issues, and behavioral issues, and I never shy away from a challenge, so please don't think you can't go on vacay if you have a difficult animal! I've worked with many different breeds and temperaments of dogs in a shelter and dog daycare setting. I've also gotten to care for some lovely cats, ferrets, fish, and tropical birds, so any species is okay with me. I attended a specialized Dog Training and Behavior Academy in 2010 and earned my professional certificate in Dog Behavior and Training. I earned my CPDT-KA, which stands for Certified Professional Dog Trainer - Knowledge Assessed in 2018. Having worked in a shelter setting as well as in private dog training and pet sitting, I'm confident that I will be able to handle your dog in a humane and friendly way. I practice solely positive reinforcement with pet animals, knowing that your pets are considered family. *Please Note: There will be a nominal fee added to bookings outside of my service radius based on type of booking (drop in/house sitting) and distance from me.
