About Me 🐾 Hi, I’m Casey! Living right across from Jefferson Park means your pup gets an instant ticket to adventure — with Wilson and Portage Parks just a mile away. That’s three big, beautiful parks for walks, games, and sniff-filled exploring! While Portage has a fenced dog park, I don’t take client dogs into off-leash areas unless you specifically request it. I always put safety first — even the sweetest pups can meet a not-so-friendly one, so I prefer calm, controlled play and one-on-one time. When your dog stays with me, they’ll have full access to my home (unless you prefer otherwise). If your dog’s allowed on the bed — perfect, I love a good snuggle! 🥰 But if not, I’ll keep to your boundaries. My rule is simple: whatever you do, I do — same commands, schedule, meals, furniture rules, everything. The goal is for your pup to feel right at home, just hanging out with a new friend. I can host up to three dogs for boarding or daycare. If your dog isn’t social with others, no problem — I’ll block off my calendar so they can have the space and peace they need. I also offer drop-in visits for pups who do better in their own home or who need someone confident handling reactive behavior. ⸻ Experience with Reactive or Aggressive Dogs 🐕‍🦺 I’ve worked with dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments — including those who struggle with reactivity, fear, or aggression. Growing up, we had a grey wolf/malamute mix who outweighed me (I started walking him at age nine — my mom was brave! 😅). Later, my Bull Terrier, Elwood, taught me even more about reading canine body language, maintaining calm energy, and creating structure for anxious or protective dogs. I’ve spent years learning to recognize early signs of stress or over-arousal — stiff posture, side-eye, lip licks, or even that quiet freeze before a lunge. These subtle cues can make all the difference in preventing conflict and keeping dogs feeling safe. My approach is always calm, steady, and respectful — I never force interaction and I always prioritize trust over obedience. I currently share custody of another Bull Terrier, Vincent (yes, shared custody — like a kid! 😂). He’s also reactive, which means I deeply understand what it’s like to love a dog who can’t be trusted with just anyone. Because of Vincent (and work travel), my calendar opens a few months at a time — but if you’re a repeat client or would like to request special dates, just message me! I’ll always do my best to accommodate. ⸻ A Few Extras 🐶 At home, I’ve got crates, stairs for senior pups or small breeds, harnesses, toys, brushes, treats, and everything you’d expect from a lifelong dog lover. Please bring your pup’s food, meds, and favorite comfort items — I’ll take care of the rest. I also offer pickup and drop-off if you need transport (harnesses and seatbelts provided, small fee applies).
