Pet care experience

It's a Pawty, Hey!

Hi, I'm Casey a remote freelance art director and dog sitter which means I'm home 95% of the time! I have one playful, loveable Mastador named Silver, and a Sharpei-pit mix named Ser who are the closest thing I have to children right now. Silver is a master lounger until there is food or a walk in the distance. Ser is a bit younger so anytime he can run unfettered, he is happy. He's also a world class snuggler. Both LOVE the dog park. My most recent pet care experience includes a puggle named Diablo and a baby Frenchie named Astra, who has became best friends with Silver and Ser. Back in Texas, I babysat + housesat for a family with a 2 dogs (a goofy Rottweiler named Edgar, & a schnauzer mixed breed named Pearl) and 5 cats. I raise Silver with lots of love but also a lot of consistency when it comes to rules and training. We also have a daily grooming regimen so let me know if that's something you're interested in. While no one can take the place of you for your pet, I hope to provide a fun, comfortable and loving environment for every dog that crosses my path. Being a dog mom myself, I know the anxiety that can come from leaving your pet with strangers (I'm also a user of Rover when I travel), but rest assured, there will be plenty of love and pictures to prove it! I just moved from Los Angeles to Little Rock so I'm ready to explore all the dog friendly activities here. Upon pet parent approval, we can do walks around the neighborhood, trips the dog park ( I live within walking distance of MacArthur Dog Park) and dog friendly events.

Our dogs are not the most welcoming to strangers, but they warmed up to Casey right away. We got pics at each visit, which I was always looking forward to.. They were well cared for while we were away. Thank you, Casey, for taking care of Hopper and Winslow while we were away!

Schedule

I'm a remote art director/designer so I'm home 95% of the time. Dogs I'm sitting are usually separated when I leave until I can observe the behavior of the pack together long enough to know there would be no issues. We are all home a lot (like I even get groceries delivered) and I don't have a car, so plenty of opportunities for walks!

Safety, trust & environment

We're a chill dog family with a good balance between structure and love. Our house is a two bedroom, bi-level apartment in a historical triplex. Senior dogs may have trouble with the stairs but we have plenty of cozy rugs, a place mat, a crate, and a couch downstairs. I baby gate both the front door and stairs and make sure feedings happen separately as well. Going upstairs you'll find a nook the dogs all take to, an extra room with a queen mattress (for the dogs obvi), an xl crate, and plenty of cozy rug floor space. Then there's my room with a papasan chair the pups love and a queen bed where I snuggle tf out of the dogs once we start winding down. Feedings happen separately and walks are dependent on capacity. Sometimes it's easier to walk each dog separately, but we also actively work on pack walking. Dogs tend to warm to Silver and Ser pretty quickly and after a week, it seems they are more of a pack than when the week started!

A typical day

We wake up, do feeding time, then each dog gets a morning walk. My yard is only partially fenced in, so a heads up on your dog's walking behaviors is greatly appreciated! We love taking trips to MacArthur Dog Park, Terry Mansion and the Riverwalk weather permitting. I also have a basket of toys overflowing from Bark Box and a few containers of high quality, made in the US treats.

1. Is your dog good with other dogs? This is essential since Silver and Ser are always here. Totally fine if they need some warming up! To mitigate any issues and see how all the dogs interact, I will need to meet ahead of time at MacArthur Park. This ensures all the dogs have a great time in my care ❤ 2. Up to date on vaccinations? 3. Spayed/Neutered? 4. Potty schedule ? House Trained? 5. Crate needed? 6. Feeding times and any special instructions for medication or notes. 7. How are they with leash walking? Do they run away off-leash? 8. What is your dog's favorite toy/game/activity? Is he/she a snuggler, or do they prefer to be close, but not smothered? LOL 9. What's the best way you can describe their personality? What is their temperament? 10. How much/little communication do you want while your dog is in my longterm care? Daily updates? Every few days? Pics, texts?
