Availability
I currently work at a doggy daycare and spend most of my time with the pups there. When I am not there, I am available to take dogs on walks, do drop-ins, and house sit. Whenever I have free time, I am happy to take your dog for a walk or drop in for a visit!

Safety, trust & environment
I focus on creating a safe, calm, and positive environment for every pet I care for, while also making sure they’re having a good time! During walks, I stay very alert to my surroundings, keep dogs on secure leashes, and pay close attention to their body language and behavior. I’ve worked with all kinds of dogs at a busy doggy daycare, so I’m comfortable handling different energy levels, personalities, and even the occasional stubborn walker. For drop-in visits, I stick to each pet’s normal routine so they feel comfortable and stress-free. That includes feeding, fresh water, cleaning up if needed, and giving them attention based on what they like, whether that’s playtime, belly rubs, or just hanging out. I try to make visits something they actually look forward to, not just a quick check-in. I also make sure everything is secure before I leave, doors, gates, and anything else that keeps them safe. On top of that, I keep communication open with owners by sending updates and photos, so you know your pet is not only safe, but also happy!!!
Information Carys W. would like to know about your pet
Before caring for any pet, I like to know as much as possible so I can give them the best care. I prefer to do a quick meet-and-greet with both the owner and the pet beforehand so everyone feels comfortable from the start. It helps me understand the pet’s personality, energy level, and any specific behaviors or needs. After the first meeting, if all goes well, then we can move to drop-ins or walks without the owner present. I do this because dogs might be uncomfortable with someone they haven't met before walking into their home, which can cause a lot of stress, anxiety, and fear. I also like to go over important details like feeding routines, walking habits, triggers (if any), medical needs, and anything else that keeps them happy and safe. Every pet is different, so having that information ahead of time helps me keep their routine consistent and stress-free. Building trust with both the pet and the owner is really important to me, and meeting beforehand makes the whole experience smoother for everyone.
A typical day
The best place to go for a walk is in parks! Dogs love it there, and there are many things to explore depending on your dog's preferences. Some feel more relaxed in secluded areas, and others are just excited to be out there in nature! Going around sniffing and exploring is super enriching for all dogs! We all live in NYC, and everyone needs to take a break from the busy city life and experience a bit of nature, especially dogs! If your dog isn't much of a walker or an outdoorsy kind of dog for drop-ins, then we can stay home and play with their favorite toys, get some belly-rubs, or even hang out and relax for a bit. Everything can be tailored to how you want your dog to spend our time! I will follow what you have in mind and what your dog also might have in mind!

Reviews
Carys looked after our dog,Lenny, on many occasions. Lenny is rescue boxer shepard mix. He big and quite reactive to people and especially dogs. She did a wonderful job of getting to know him and providing a calming vibe. She was very reliable and always on time. Highly recommend Carys to take great care of your dogs.
