When caring for pets in your home or on their usual walking routes, safety and trust are always top priorities. We take the time to understand your pet’s environment, routines, and needs—whether it’s a quiet walk through the neighborhood or special instructions for your home while you’re away. We’re respectful of your space and treat your home with care and professionalism. You can count on us to follow your instructions closely, lock up securely, and maintain a clean, safe environment for your pets. During walks, we stick to routes your dog is familiar with (unless instructed otherwise) and always keep them leashed and under control. We’re alert to potential hazards like traffic, other dogs, or wildlife and will adjust as needed to keep your pet safe and calm. Communication is key—we’ll keep you updated and will always reach out if anything seems off or needs attention.

A typical day
Your pet’s day with us will be filled with playtime, attention, and lots of love! We stick as closely as possible to your pet’s routine—from feeding schedules to potty breaks, medication, and preferred walking times. Whether your dog needs high-energy exercise or your cat just wants a cozy lap, we adjust to their needs. Expect regular updates with pictures, videos, and messages throughout the visit—so you always know how your fur baby is doing.

Animals are our passion, and we’ve built a life around caring for them. With over 20 years of combined experience caring for animals, we’ve looked after dogs and cats of all ages—from energetic puppies to senior pets needing extra love and attention. We also have extensive experience with reptiles, small animals, and pets with medical needs. Our home is full of love (and fur)! Our oldest dog is 13, and our youngest is nearly 1, so we’re familiar with a wide range of behaviors, energy levels, and care requirements. Melissa previously worked as a vet tech in training, so we’re also fully comfortable administering medications and understanding medical instructions. I’m a U.S. Army veteran, and my military background has helped shape me into someone who’s dependable, organized, and calm under pressure. I bring those qualities into every pet sitting job, aiming to keep your pets happy, healthy, and stress-free while you’re away. Whether your pet needs early-morning walks, medication, or just someone to stick to their routine—I’m here to help.

Couldn’t be happier with Carter as our pet sitter. He was thoughtful and communicative during our time away, and totally rolled with the quirks of our pets and property. Our animals were all completely calm and happy upon our return. The house was cleaner than we left it! We would without a doubt leave our home and fur family in Carter’s capable hands in the future, and plan to do so!
We had a wonderful experience. He took such thoughtful care of our dog and was incredibly flexible when our timing shifted. He also handled a little accident with complete kindness, which meant a lot to us. Our dogs were happy, calm, and clearly well loved. Highly recommend!
Carter & Melissa were AMAZING! We had never left our pets with anyone but family so we were a bit nervous. We did a meet and greet which went great, then met one more time right before our trip to show them around a bit more. We have a 12 year old cat, 5 yr old cairn and a 1 1/2 yr lab (basically a very strong willed puppy) plus 3 hens. They took care of them so well, sent great photos to us each day & videos! We were gone 5 days & when we walked into our home it was immaculate and the animals were all so content. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience with our pets. I would definitely feel completely at ease to hire Carter & Melissa again to pet sit for us:)
