Hi, I’m Onyx! 🐾 I’m a Chicago native, New Yorker, journalist, and lifelong animal lover. Caring for animals has always been one of the most grounding parts of my life, and being a dog mom to my 60-lb Staffy mix, Reese, has given me years of hands-on experience understanding the personalities, routines, and quirks that make every pet different. I’m the kind of sitter who genuinely enjoys getting to know an animal—not just making sure they’re fed and walked, but making sure they feel safe, comfortable, stimulated, and loved while you’re away. I’m attentive to routines and instructions, and I’m happy to send regular updates, photos, and videos so you can have peace of mind while you’re apart. I’m especially comfortable with energetic dogs who love to play, explore, and get plenty of exercise. I’m an active person myself, so long walks, runs, playtime, and keeping a pup entertained are right up my alley. I also have a serious collection of dog toys at home, so there’s no shortage of ways to keep a four-legged guest busy! Whether your pet needs an adventure buddy, a midday break, some extra cuddles, or simply a calm and reliable person to keep them company, I’d love to help. Whether I’m caring for a pet in my home or theirs, my priority is making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while sticking as closely as possible to their normal routine. In a client’s home, I’m respectful of their space and follow their instructions closely—from feeding and walks to medications, supplements, playtime, and bedtime routines. I’m also happy to provide regular photo and video updates so you know how your pet is doing while you’re away. In my home, I make sure pets have a comfortable, pet-friendly space where they can relax and get plenty of attention and enrichment. I have lots of toys and love taking dogs outside for walks or trips to the park when appropriate. I’m also attentive to each pet’s individual personality and boundaries—whether they’re energetic and playful or prefer a quieter environment with lots of cuddles. After years of caring for my own dog, Reese, I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet. I treat every animal in my care with that same level of patience, attention, and responsibility.

Don't hire someone pricier. Onyx is better than them, I guarantee. She was fantastic. She loved my Atlas immediately, and he loved her back. She spoiled him with special treats, took frequent pictures, and even paid for a nail trim out of her own pocket. If I can, I'll hire her every time I need a sitter.
Onyx went above and beyond when she couldn’t get back into my apartment and took my dog back to her place so he could stay safe and warm. She’s very kind and all around a good dog walker. 10/10, A+
Simply put, Onyx’s sitting style is loving and attentive. For the last 3 years, she has served as my neighbor as well as emergency sitter to my beagle mix, Na Na. Over these years, Onyx has fostered a relationship with NaNa that is almost inseparable, proving to be a nurturing and reliable resource.
My experience with Onyx as my dog sitter has been a fruitful one. Since using her walking services via wag, she’s proven time and time again to timely, honest and caring to my 2 year old Maltipoo, Jackson. A dog with high energy and a bit of sas, Onyx has proven to be patient and attentive to her needs. Onyx is definitely my go to sitter when I am out of town.

I’m currently unemployed so outside of caring for my own dog, I have more time than ever to care for more pups while their parents are traveling.
