Availability

I’m a full time university student, but typically have gaps in between classes. I would be able to care for your pets before, after, and in between my classes if you are close to campus. I own a car, so for pet sitting if you live farther away from campus that is not a problem. Just know that depending on the distance my check-ins may not be as frequent.

8 years of experience
Oral medication administration

Safety, trust & environment

I would be able to check in regularly (if home-sitting), as well as give your dog/cat the attention they need. If walking, I know how to engage and work with dogs, which comes in handy when encountering other animals. I’ll make sure to give them plenty of love!

Information Carrie C. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know ahead of time if your dog or cat has any special needs I need to know about. This includes medications and behavioral habits.

A typical day

I typically spend time with dogs according to their needs. Many dogs need extra exercise, in which case I spend that extra time helping them expend that energy. I also excel at cuddling, and spend a lot of time petting and giving them quality attention

Pet care experience

I’ve owned a variety of pets, but my main experience is with dogs! I’ve been taking care of my own dogs (3) for 7+ years, and they have a special place in my heart. I also have cared for my previous neighbors dogs and horses on a regular basis. I know how to handle multiple issues, including illness, aggressive behavior, fear and anxiety, etc. . I’m looking for the opportunity to work with dogs, and cats, since I am not able to be with or take care of my own dogs. I’m currently studying Wildlife Management at BYUI, and love working with all animals. On a side note, Rover does take 20% of your payment so I’m not actually earning everything you pay. If you think I did a good job at the end of my services and you are willing and able, any extra tips are appreciated (but not at all expected).

Carrie was kind and responsive before/during our meet and greet, but after that communication was very lacking, especially during the stay. She arrived almost 3 hours later than planned due to car troubles but it was difficult to get an estimated arrival time from her so I was trying to find a backup sitter last minute while already out of town. She let me know when she got to our house to begin the stay. On the second day of the stay, she messaged around 8am to let us know everything was going well. I messaged her at 7pm to see how everything was going and did not hear back until almost 9:30 the next morning after messaging her to say we were worried that we hadn’t heard from her in over 24 hours and if we didn’t hear from her soon we were going to cut our trip short and come home because we didn’t want our dogs to be alone that long. She did message back and say everything was going well so we didn’t end up cutting our trip short. The lack of communication was stressful for me as someone who doesn’t go out of town often and made me want to get a ring camera for peace of mind for our next trip. I did say during the meet and greet that I didn’t need a ton of pictures and messages, just one or two updates per day, but I think not hearing from a sitter for over 24 hours that you are paying and trusting to take care of your babies is not okay.

Carrie was very responsive when I contacted her about booking which I appreciated. It was a last minute booking, she already had plans for the weekend but made arrangements to watch my two dogs and house for the weekend. As I reached out to her she gave me updates on how they were doing. I came home to happy dogs and my home clean. Would book her services again.

Carrie took such great care of our animals! They loved her and we are so glad! When we got home all our animals were so content and they and our home was obviously well cared for while we were away!

Carrie was great! She came over and met the dogs before our trip, so I felt confident that she would take great care of them! She was so kind and definitely treated my dogs as if they were her own! I will definitely reach out to her for future trips! Thanks Carrie!
