Pet care experience

Humane Society Volunteer

Hi, I'm Carrie! ✨ New to Rover! As I build my client family, I'm offering introductory pricing while still providing premium care, personalized updates, and lots of love for every pet. My passion for dogs goes beyond simply loving animals—I actively volunteer as a dog walker with my local Humane Society, where I've gained hands-on experience working with dogs of all breeds, sizes, ages, and personalities. Through my volunteer work, I've learned how to safely handle energetic dogs, build trust with shy or nervous dogs, and adapt each walk to meet a dog's individual needs. Every dog deserves patience, kindness, and a positive experience, whether they need an energetic walk, a slower pace, or simply someone who understands their unique personality. I take pride in creating a calm, safe, and enjoyable environment while always putting the dog's well-being first. In addition to my volunteer experience, my professional background has taught me the importance of reliability, communication, and attention to detail. You can count on me to arrive on time, follow your care instructions carefully, and provide updates and photos after every visit so you can have complete peace of mind while you're away. I treat every dog as if they were my own and look forward to building lasting relationships with both you and your furry family member.

Safety, trust & environment

I believe every pet is happiest when their routine is respected, so I take the time to learn your dog's preferences, schedule, and any special instructions before each visit. Whether I'm providing a walk, a potty break, or a drop-in visit, my goal is to make your pet feel comfortable, safe, and cared for while you're away. During each visit, I provide personalized attention based on your dog's energy level and needs. This includes exercise, fresh water, potty breaks, playtime, affection, and plenty of positive reinforcement. I'll also make sure your home is secure before I leave by checking doors, gates, and any instructions you've provided. Communication is very important to me. After every visit, you'll receive photos and a detailed update about your dog's walk, behavior, potty breaks, and anything else you should know. I treat every home with respect and every pet as if they were my own, so you can feel confident knowing they're in caring, dependable hands.

Schedule

Pet care is already an important part of my weekly routine. I volunteer as a dog walker with my local Humane Society on Saturdays, where I have the opportunity to work with dogs of different breeds, sizes, energy levels, and personalities. I truly enjoy spending time with dogs and helping them get the exercise, enrichment, and attention they deserve. Outside of volunteering, I maintain an active lifestyle and enjoy being outdoors, making dog walking a natural fit for me. I intentionally schedule my availability so I can provide dependable, personalized care without feeling rushed. Whether it's a daily walk, a potty break, or extra playtime, I treat every visit as an opportunity to make a positive difference in a dog's day. For me, pet care isn't just something I do—it's something I genuinely enjoy. My goal is to provide every pet with safe, compassionate care while giving their owners confidence and peace of mind.

Before caring for your pet, I like to learn as much as I can about their unique personality, routine, and needs so I can provide the best possible experience. Every dog is different, and understanding what makes them feel comfortable helps build trust from the very first visit. Some of the things I like to know include: Your dog's daily routine and preferred walking schedule. Energy level and favorite activities. Any medical conditions, allergies, or medications. Behavioral quirks, fears, or triggers (such as loud noises, other dogs, or strangers). Leash manners and any commands they know. Favorite treats, toys, and rewards. Emergency contact and veterinarian information. I also appreciate knowing any house-specific instructions, such as alarm systems, gate codes, or where supplies are kept. My goal is to keep your pet's routine as consistent as possible while providing safe, loving, and dependable care. The more I know ahead of time, the more comfortable and enjoyable each visit will be for both you and your pet.
