About Carolyn W.
Safety, trust & environment
When caring for pets in a client’s home, I prioritize keeping their routine as consistent as possible to minimize stress. I follow all care instructions closely, including feeding schedules, medications, exercise, and any specific preferences your pet has. I take a calm, patient approach and allow pets to warm up at their own pace, especially those who are shy or anxious. Safety is always a top priority. I’m attentive to my surroundings, ensure doors, gates, and harnesses are secure, and closely monitor pets during walks and interactions. With my veterinary background, I’m able to recognize early signs of illness or distress and respond appropriately if any concerns arise. I also respect your home as I would my own—keeping things clean, secure, and well maintained while you’re away. My goal is to provide dependable, low-stress care so both you and your pet feel comfortable and confident.
Information Carolyn W. would like to know about your pet
I like to know your pet’s routine, feeding schedule, and any medical needs ahead of time, including medications or dietary restrictions. It’s also helpful to understand their temperament, energy level, and any behavioral quirks (such as anxiety, reactivity, or triggers). I also ask about emergency contacts, veterinary information, and any specific preferences your pet has so I can provide care that’s as safe, consistent, and stress-free as possible.
A typical day
I focus on keeping your pet’s routine as normal and stress-free as possible, following their usual schedule for feeding, walks, playtime, and rest. For dogs, that includes structured walks and play to keep them active and engaged. For cats, I prioritize interactive play, gentle attention, and giving them space when needed. I also include simple enrichment and stay attentive to any changes in behavior or health. My goal is to provide a balance of activity, comfort, and consistency so your pet feels safe and well cared for while you’re away.

Pet care experience
I have 14 years of experience working as a veterinary technician, along with over 5 years previously running my own pet-sitting business. I’ve cared for dogs and cats of all ages, temperaments, and medical needs, and I’m comfortable administering medications (including oral and injectable), monitoring for early signs of illness, and supporting senior or special needs pets. I also have experience with behavioral challenges, including anxious or reactive dogs, and I approach every animal with patience and an understanding that each pet has their own personality and needs. I’m knowledgeable in pet nutrition and have worked with animals requiring specialized diets or restrictions. In addition, I’m currently an EMT and nursing student, which has strengthened my ability to stay calm in emergencies and recognize subtle changes in condition. I’m CPR certified for both humans and pets, and I bring a calm, attentive, and experienced approach so you can feel confident your pet is in capable hands.
