I recently graduated from graduate school, so my availability is very flexible. I'm free to take care of pets in the mornings and evenings on weekdays and the afternoons and evenings on weekends. I am from out of state, so there may be periods of time where I'm away visiting home, but I'll work with you to find the time that works best for you and your pets!

I can crate dogs if needed. I will always keep your dogs on a leash when out on walks and will follow instructions about socializing with people and with other dogs, environments where they feel most comfortable, etc. to the letter. I will only ever give them approved toys and treats and will never leave them alone outside or in any new environment. I will provide emergency care if necessary. I will always have your dog's unique needs in mind and I will ensure that they are kept safe, happy, and healthy!

Please let me know if your dog has any special needs or unique behaviors that I will need to accommodate, such as medical issues or separation anxiety. I have no preference when it comes to breed and will gladly take any breeds, including bully breeds. If your dog has any favorite treats or toys, I'd love to know that too so I can make sure to pamper them!
A typical day
I will make sure that your dogs are engaged and stimulated mentally and physically. I will take them on walks that are appropriately long and strenuous for them, and can take them to fun places like dog parks if they like making new friends! I'll also keep track of their favorite treats, toys, and games to play and make sure I tailor each playdate to their individual wants and needs.

Pet care experience
I've owned and taken care of dogs for my entire life. I volunteered at Longmont Humane Society in Longmont, Colorado for three years while I was in high school. I worked with dogs of all breeds and dispositions, cleaning their kennels, distributing food, and helping them socialize. I now volunteer at the Nashville Humane Association as a dog walker; I am a Yellow Level volunteer, meaning that I have completed a Fear Free Shelters certification and am qualified to work with shy/fearful dogs, dogs with moderate behavioral issues, and our "Gentle Giants" who might need a bit more strength to handle! I love and respect every single dog, including ones that are often overlooked, such as seniors or those with special needs. I have experience with dogs of every age, from puppies to seniors - my own dog turned 12 years old in December! Lastly, I have taken a course in Cat and Dog First Aid and am certified.

Caroline’s second and third words were “hi” and “dog,” and it wasn’t long before those words were combined for an enthusiastic greeting to every dog Caroline encountered. Caroline’s affection for dogs has been returned in equal force - dogs have just always known that Caroline loves them and will care for them. This love for dogs eventually translated into many hours spent caring for the dogs who needed desperately to feel a human’s kind touch at our local humane society, where Caroline comforted the lonely and made sure their spaces and toys were clean. Our own dog considers Caroline a cherished sibling, our neighbors’ dogs seek them out for scritches, and strange dogs are drawn to them, knowing instinctively that Caroline will love and protect them. There is no better person to step into your shoes to care for your beloved canine companion when you cannot!
