Your pet’s new auntie :)
I’ve taken care of primarily cats just because so many of my friends and loved ones have pets. I currently share a cat with my partner (our little Obi!), who was a street cat before being adopted from the shelter. That said, I’m gentle and patient with cats and dogs, and I’m a quick learner as a result of having taken care of pets with all kinds of personalities, especially the shy and “look, don’t touch” ones. I think all animals are deserving of respect and care, and I do my very best to make sure the animals I interact with feel safe around me. **Please note that I will only be in the Greater Boston Area through June. I will be moving to a different state in July.

I currently have a cat with my partner! He was a street cat who had a pretty rough kitten hood before coming home to us, and since then, I’ve made every effort to make sure he feels safe. This included making sure he knew hands were safe by letting him eat Churus right off my fingers, getting low on the ground so he wouldn’t be intimidated by a taller being around him, and taking physical cues to know when it was time to stop petting. As such, I apply the same sort of techniques with other cats and dogs—I believe they’re fully capable of telling us what they do and don’t need, and I am more than happy to accommodate.

Schedule
I tend to be more available during the mornings and the evenings, although I can be flexible with the owner’s specific needs (ie. administering medications at certain hours, filling automatic pet feeders) so long as I’m expressly told about sensitive time frames!
