We have a secure, fenced yard, a doggie door, and a covered back patio with doggie beds perfect for lounging in the sun or shade. We also have a friendly bull terrier who will happily keep your dog company! We can easily keep your dog in a separate room while we are away from the house if you prefer. Lucy’s dad/my significant other, Pedro, also lives here and also loves animals.

Information Carol Y. would like to know about your pet

I don't have breed preferences- I like all dogs! It would be helpful to know a little bit about their personality, what motivates them, any tricks they like to do as well as any habits you are trying to reinforce or break. Also, what is their normal daily routine like? How much food and when? Any meds? Fears or Aggression-triggers? Comforts? How far do they walk?

A typical day

Time I'll spend with your dog: Depends on their needs/your preferences... $20 covers a half-hour walk and the time it takes me to get to your place. (If you are willing to pay a little more per visit, I can spend more time.) $60-70 covers overnight stays at my house for one dog and includes one walk per day. I'm fairly flexible on drop-off (PM) and pick-up (AM) for beginning and last day of boarding. I like to get a sense from you of what their normal routine looks like, favorite toys, etc. At this time, I no longer do overnight stays at your house, but can do multiple visits per day if you would rather your pet stay at their own house. Extra house-sitting services: I will happily bring in the mail and pick up the poo! I can also water your plants if needed. I always try my best to leave your place as clean or better than I found it.

Reliable sitter with pre-vet degree

Pet care experience

You can trust me to take excellent care of your pet! As well as owning my own pets most of my life (dogs, cats, ferret, birds, rabbits, etc.), I also have a Bachelor of Science degree in pre-veterinary medicine. I have pet-sat for several friends and clients, volunteered at shelters, worked at veterinary clinics, boarding facilities, and for a professional dog walking company. You can rest easy as your pet will be safe in my care. I follow directions well and get the details right! Why I love dog walking and sitting: I have been a dog lover since the day I was born. My first dog, Chief, helped raise me! Since then, I have owned a dog most of my life. Some have called me the "dog-whisperer". I have a pretty good perception of dogs and connect very easily with most. My last dog, Wendell, was a 150 lb. mastiff whom I adopted when he was 4.5 years old. He had never been socialized and was scared of most people, so in the six years we were together, I gained a lot of first-hand experience working through behavioral issues in a very large and strong breed. Our current dog is Lucy, a happy-go-lucky bull terrier who is deaf. She loves every living being! I’m also comfortable taking care of cats and other pets. My experience administering medication: I've given lots of oral meds and various ointments, eye drops, ear drops, etc.

I can’t tell you how Carol helped us while my husband had surgery out of town. It was such a burden lifted not to worry about the pup. She kept me updated with pictures, and left the house perfect.

Carol has pet sit for us twice now and we feel very lucky to have found her! We have two cats and a dog. Although our cats are pretty easy, our dog is not. Carol has been happy and willing to walk our energetic and reactive dog... something most shy away from. She is also very responsive and communicative! We plan to rebook again in the future.
