Pet care experience
i have always loved animals, having been around them or owning them all my life. I was raised in Africa, and we always had dogs - our various Alsatian cross Ridgebacks were not just guard dogs, but family pets who were loved and cared for as another member of the family. As growing children, we were taught to care for animals, having to take turns to feed and walk our various pets (which also included guinea pigs and a tortoise!). Having grown up with animals around me, when I left home the love of pets continued and I have owned and loved a number of dogs, ranging from a Labrador to a Chihuahua, Fox Terriers to Jack Russell Terriers - frequent long walks and different feeding regimes were necessary for all the different breeds. I even rescued and cared for a Crow and a Baboon! I have also owned a Siamese cat and love their complex characters and individuality as much as dogs. Sadly, living in a retirement complex, I am unable to have my own pets, so I love opportunities to look after and care for pets while their owners relax and go on holiday. I can assure you that your pet will not lack love or exercise when I am looking after them, I will adhere to whatever dietary requirements you stipulate and you will get frequent photos and videos to assure you that they are safe and happy even though maybe missing their owner.

Carol was an excellent sitter. From our first interaction, Carol came across very easy going and very accommodating to meet all of our needs. She did a great job looking after, keeping us updated. Dogs had plenty of walks, despite one of ours being very over excitable and pulling on the lead still being a work in progress! We came back to a very clean and tidy home and two happy doggies. Carol has pet and house sat for us on a number of occasions and has become our go to person if we are going on holiday. I would heartily and unreservedly recommend her to everyone. We have two Pomeranian dogs and a number of Koi which she has also looked after, fed, tested water and applied chemicals as instructed during our absence. Our two Poms are very special to us and we want the highest level of care while we are away - the younger one is an absolute Mum's girl, but adjusted to the change and was soon giving Carol as much love as she gives me! Keri, our older 13 year old Pom is a rescue and you can't always be sure of her temperament - but Carol persevered in spite of her grumbling and growling when Carol approached her bed, by the end of the visit, she was happy to let Carol come up to her and her bed and give her lots of love... perseverance won through. Carol is really sensible, leaving Keri if she appeared to not want to walk rather than stressing her by putting a lead. We were kept updated with pictures and messages and had full confidence that our girls were getting the best of care. Our home was also beautifully clean and well kept when we returned, none of the plants had died due to careful watering.... so a full care programme! I would not hesitate recommending her to anyone - her love of animals and care of them when she is dog sitting is AMAZING.
We first connected with Carol in October 2024 via THS and she has done many sits for our team of 2 dogs and 2 cats since then, long durations as well as short weekends. Carol is our go to as she is just what our team love. The animals and their routine are Carol's priority and she revolves her days around their needs. Our team is 1 dog smaller now but Carol still enjoys her time with our old girl whose almost 15 and our cheeky boys (cats). They are all very mellow and relaxed when Carol has been to stay. Her communication is excellent and she keeps us updated with photos and messages. The house is always immaculate. We cannot thank Carol enough for being Auntie Carol to the team and we can't recommend her highly enough. You won't be disappointed if you entrust your home and pets to this lovely lady.
